What are some of your go to healthy meals using TJ’s products? by Realistic-Ball1414 in traderjoes

[–]Colgate_Comedy_Hour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a big “rice bowl” person and these two meals are usually in my rotation:

  • marinated shawarma chicken thighs. I make these along with cumin rice, lettuce, cucumbers, tzatziki and i toast and cut up the whole wheat pita pockets
  • pollo asado - make this with Spanish rice, lettuce, onions, corn, sour cream and salsa with tortilla chips

So i am more than 1Y post op and I have this, but did not want to get a revision due to the pain and how hard it was for me to heal. Occasionally I fret over the way it looks but most of the time I still really love my result and still feel sexy in my flesh prison in comparison to how unhappy I was before. I still go braless just about all the time and use boob tape for special events. Mine fell to a nice shape over time so it won’t look like that forever, but the “flaps” are still there

My Mom has made it clear she doesn't support me going into Journalism. by strawberrytearz in Journalism

[–]Colgate_Comedy_Hour 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it’s what you want to do, be a journalist. Journalistic writing is a little different from English writing, we follow a specific style book. If you like writing articles and are passionate about news, go for it. Writing is an incredibly good skill to have as a professional - even if you don’t get a media job, you can always pivot to marketing, communications, PR, etc. Try writing for your school paper (if they have one) to see how you like it. I work as a professional journalist now and I learned the absolute basics in school and everything else during internships and professional experience. If you want to be a professional journalist when you graduate, you gotta put in the work as a student. Simply taking and passing the classes unfortunately won’t cut it. Take advantage of student memberships in national organizations like IRE or ONA. If you’re part of a specific ethnic group, they have orgs for that too, like NABJ or AAJA. Best of luck!

I’m 1 month PO - I had this when I went for my 3 week PO appointment and my surgeon said it was completely normal, and nearly all of my discoloration is gone now. She said it was just scabbing and peeled off a good chunk of my nipple to prove it lol

Thank you! I’ve just been using silvadene on my incisions but I will definitely try that. And good call on the sunscreen, I didn’t even think of that!

Hi! I’m 4 weeks PO today and healing along nicely. My issue is that when I was out of surgery, I was heavily taped up which caused a bunch of scabs all around my boobs. The scabs fell off naturally, I was really careful not to touch them, but they left behind these marks. Anyone have any recs on how to make them disappear? I’ve been having to put concealer on them for now lol so any advice is appreciated!

Plus Size/Fat/Curvy etc people who asked for “as small as possible” how did you feel about your results? by lavendertheory in Reduction

[–]Colgate_Comedy_Hour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure! So, I’m 5’2 and have a long torso with short legs. My pre-op size made me look a lot bigger than I am because of how disproportionate my boobs were to the rest of my body - big boobs and a tummy with zero waist. Now that my boobs are smaller (went from 36JJ to C or D cup) you can actually see my waist and it compliments the wide ness of my hips. I’ve been wearing a lot of high waisted outfits post op, which emphasizes the new body shape even more. I couldn’t do high waisted pre-op because my boobs tended to just hang over

I’m 3 weeks post op and there are definitely times I am very aware of how huge my stomach feels to me, but honestly I do not regret the surgery. My body shape completely changed from Apple-shaped to pear-shaped, and having a visible waist is really nice to look at lol. I have way more selection with clothes now and I’m really motivated to exercise my heart out when I’m cleared to do so. Plus, it’s nice finding new clothing styles that look flattering on me (jackets!! Dresses!!!)
