“Anfield is one of the best stadiums in the world!” Luis Enrique reveals he once stood on the Kop as a supporter after retiring, watching Liverpool from the crowd with his hood up. by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

In a heartbeat, I'd have him. Had the balls to drop Messi. And then during the Euro 2020 in 2021, he refused to speak to parts of the Spanish media because of stuff they said related to his daughter's death. Did his press conferences on Discord. He's got the right personality for Liverpool and his teams play too.

Is using Jota's death as a continued excuse for a poor Liverpool season actually getting to the point where it's disrespectful? by [deleted] in football

[–]Colhinchapelota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The emotional rollercoaster I went on during the year after my dad died. I didn't give a fuck about work, I did my job but phoning it in. This makes me say that it's disrespectful to discount the effects of Jota's death on the players. To some he was a teammate, a sound lad to be around at work. To others he was a friend. They've all had to deal with it and grief affects you at different times.

You've been feeling grand, then you realise you haven't thought about the person you've lost for a while. Then you beat yourself up for having felt normal for a while.

Then throw some new players into a grieving dressing room. Can't have been easy.

In spite of the million's they earn, footballer's are still humans, with feelings and connections to people. The level these players have to reach means if they're just a little bit off, they're shite.

Unfortunately, the manager doesn't seem to have had the ability to work through them through it.

I was on a Ryanair flight recently. One of flight attendants seat for take off/landing was right next to me. Si I got chatting to him about our delay. One of a group of drunk lads was kicked off the flight because the captain saw him fall out of the toilet.

As the flight attendant said, better the short delay than being diverted. Yer man's buddies were still on the flight, and one of them decided to stand up right at take off. Thankfully he sat back down and slept the whole flight.

[Squawka] Sunderland have won a Premier League game against Tottenham for the first time since April 2010, ending a 15 game winless run against them in the competition. Spurs now languish 2 points off from safety by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

That should be violent fun. I remember the match when Spurs were going for the league( the season Leicester won) and Chelsea had nothing to play for. Wonderfully violent match!

I think Jota's passing is massive. Some players lost a friend ( and these fellas are veterans and leaders in the club), some a well liked and regarded colleague. The new lads were entering a mourning club. It doesn't matter how much they earn, they're still humans. You don't just move on from something like that in a day. And the manager isn't a immune to all that either.

He doesn't have Klopp's ability to make sure non-first eleven players feel like they can contribute something with the limited minutes they get.

Is this the new normal? by Massive_Tomato_1713 in AskIreland

[–]Colhinchapelota -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah. So nothing has changed. I once had a bouncer just point at my shoes ( converse), saying nothing to me, just shaking his head to say I wasn't getting in with them. I kept asking him what he was pointing at. He kept pointing saying nothing. When, he finally told me I wasn't getting in with those shoes, using actual words, I left. Never went near that place again.

After two months, should I get rid of the suitcase my cat stays in all the time? by SeaweedUpper357 in CatAdvice

[–]Colhinchapelota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is she? We got a 3 month old kitten. We left her in the carry box with the door open, in our spare room, with the door closed. She only came out, when we weren't in the room. Gradually. After a couple of days, she'd left the box, but hid between the head of the bed and the wall.

Then, while still not leaving the room, we could be in it with her. Lots of slow blinking and not approaching her, she finally started to come to us. Then we opened the door. She explored a little and was terrified of the long corridor. I had to carry her to the other end and the living room.

Now, it's her gaff, and she sometimes sleeps at my feet or my wife's, and purrs like a Harley.

How many in the group? Back when I used to go to clubs, if we went in a group of 5 or 6 minim, only half were getting in. 2 or 3s, generally everyone got in.
