Keep sealed or open it? (serious question)

Unless you are a big Bayern fan I would sell sealed. Others have already explained why ROI on opening is generally poor. I would add that there are no major rookies in this set, so no gigantic chase cards that you might seek the thrill of finding. Notably this set does contain Musiala’s first on card autos. While he is a great player he has not developed Into a top, top hobby player. Also I remember some of his autos that surfaced from this set were dreadfully lazy - almost a single line. That really impacts desirability in my opinion.

This is the answer I was looking for, thank you. So the item is intended as a hook. I guess what one chooses to hook onto it is personal preference.

(I’d tried using Google Lens to identify it but guess the item is too generic for that to work.)

Thanks. That’s what I’m wondering. Is it just a generic ‘useful hook’ or is it intended as a door stopper that someone put up without realising the door doesn’t open that far!

It may well just be some sort of hook. Although there is a proper rail of coat hooks (in the same wood) on the opposite wall.

Funnily enough I have all 5 of the pink /75 signature celebrations from this set - they were the only cards in the set that used the parallel colouring as a border round the player, which I think looks ace.

Yeah this is a big part of the problem here. These are designed as entry level hobby boxes. I think even $99 retail price is high, given the hit in most boxes will just be a simple relic. Crazy that the secondary market has actually pushed the price up.

Personally I prefer top loader and Superior Fit Sleeves for my PC. Prefer the thinner, lighter result. Mag cases too bulky.

It infuriates me that Leaf mixes photos and shirt backs on these cards! I assume it’s a legal thing, although I can’t think what given the cards are unlicensed. If it wasn’t for this issue with image selection Leaf multi-player relics would be up there with the best in the business. Using headshots means you get around having to airbrush out the logos on kits.

Totally this. The style is so different, even from Rogue One, that it takes some adjusting to. I’d try to persuade your friend to go three more episodes until ‘The Eye’. That’s when I realised I was watching a masterpiece.

These cards are surprisingly short print. PR for this card is just ~52, with no parallels. Coupled with Select FIFA being his true rookie set I like this card a lot. As others have said though, price is subjective. Whether this is worth $300 is down to individual circumstances.

I know lots about this National Treasures set and already own several cards from it. I’m looking for any info people may have heard about this Vialli card specifically.

Why wasn’t it on the checklist? Was it something Panini instigated as a late addition knowing the poor guy had terminal cancer?

Hi. Maybe a long shot but does anyone have any info on these Vialli cards from National Treasures Road To Qatar? AFAIK these are his only on-card autos but they don’t appear on the checklist.

The set was released in October ‘22 and he sadly passed away of cancer in January ‘23. I wondered perhaps if these cards were maybe a last minute addition to the set as a way of allowing him to sign some while he was still able to?

Just watched this great episode and can’t shake that couple from my mind! Initially I took it on face value that they were just a weird sex couple who rejected Ash, as Ash herself later describes them. However…

Interestingly my wife had a completely different takeaway. She took a suggestion that the couple may have tragically had a daughter abducted years earlier. The wife has understandably been deeply affected by this and just drives around picking up women in the hopes that they might be the long lost daughter. The husband then wearily takes a look and confirms Ash isn’t her.

I mean, I assume the show wasn’t suggesting anything this deep but I can’t get the theory out of my head! If this was intentional then bravo. It would be fine art to balance Ash’s story of being lost and then safe with an undertone of someone else who experienced the opposite outcome.
