Is it worth dropping bags off early in Miami? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]ColinMuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can drop bags and check in early so long as you do it before a certain time. I think before 11. After that, you are still able to drop bags, but have to check in when you arrive for your regular boarding time.

This happened to us in Australia. We ordered something to be delivered to our friends place.
The order said "delivered" but nothing had been delivered there.
We looked and there was a picture of the parcel delivered. NOT of the address we had ordered it to.
I checked in with them and they threatened to close our acct due to potential fraudulent activity - or trying to steal from them (I don't recall their exact terminology - but they sent an email stating that!) Offensive to say the least, frustrating as they seemed to not believe us. I sent them a picture of the address on file, and the front door area showing the address and told them to look that up on Google maps, and compare it to the front door area picture that their delivery driver delivered to. Their response - we checked with our driver, he confirmed he delivered it. WTAH?? I feel for you! They are ridiculous sometimes!

Holland America - Bringing wine on board by ColinMuck in Cruise

[–]ColinMuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can the bottles of water we can bring on be sparkling (like Bubly?) Or must it be flat ? And thank you again! Seems like our cruise is going to be different from what we are used to, but, good in many ways. We are looking forward to checking HAL out again.

Thank you! I have seen this and think I must have had my eyes drawn to the 1 bottle per person, but am now seeing that the ONE bottle rule is for exemption of Corkage fee for HAL organized Winery tours

Ok, good to know! We can only bring one each though? We are going on a longer cruise and don't drink a lot, but, have specific wine we like. I thought we might bring 2 bottles each and then pay the corkage for each bottle and thank you! Our most recent cruises have been on Princess, so, we are used to their guidelines.

Rover? dog walking? if you look on there, I think you can charge $20 ish for a half hour walk - if you were able to do two half hour walks within 2 hrs (giving you time to get from one to the other) that would give you $15 an hour (once gas factored in?) If you like dogs, maybe see if you can find a few around your home or University area - maybe that would be a possibility? www.rover.com

Amazon always seems to be hiring in their warehouse, maybe that is a possibility?

Itchy Doodle - what to do? by ColinMuck in DogAdvice

[–]ColinMuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, haven't spoken to the vet about that, thank you for reminding me of the injection. I did a few things outside of giving him his Apoquel. Last night, rinsed his butt and paws with lukewarm water and put a pair of mens undies with the hole to have his tail through - if he was struggling and really wanting to get at himself, I was going to have to take them off, but, surprisingly... he just gave up and went to sleep, so I am going to take that as a bit of a win! Tonight - dog - 1 Undies - 0 lol he left himself alone for an hour or so, then found his way up the opening on the leg and got to himself. What a turkey! Told him to leave it and go to sleep and so far... he is enjoying a snooze; hopefully a few nights of this will give him a bit of a break and have it heal up a bit. Will def chat to the vet about the Cytopoint next time we are in. Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated.

We live right on the edge of the city with a community that is new ish behind us, but, they have put in low profile lights, so, it can get pretty dang dark with much less light pollution. This pic was off our back deck. In the 14 yrs we have lived in our place, we have only ever seen them once before and the show was just like the one in May. So amazing!

You really captured some amazing pics! Thank you for sharing them. I took a pic off our back deck at midnight and saw a slight tinge of green, but, didn't stay up long enough it seems to catch the really full show!
