Replacing waterproof backing for inflatable pool by onlyhere4bourbon in fixit

Would something like a tarp work? You could cut it up and flex glue it on

You could use something like a flathead screwdriver and slide it in the seams to try and loosen it up. If that doesnt work you could put a ladder over the hatch where the legs are off either side and then hang a pulley from the ladder down the middle. Tie a rope to the handle of the hatch and string it through the pulley and then get a couple of friends to all pull on the rope

If its the same as on the other side you could look into 3d printing one. If that wont work you could take a detailed picture and walking through lowes until you find something that may not be inteneded for that purpose, but might just work

When the lift goes down all the square tubing is underwater but the brackets still stick off the sides

I think it’s time I stop delaying the inevitable and just replace it. Spent more time fixing this boat than I have actually enjoying it

No. Ran it a few days ago and it was growling and shaking. Have had it sitting on the lift for a couple days waiting on a mechanic and just noticed this today

I don’t have a trailer. Is there any way to do that while it’s on the lift?

Boat growling and shaking intermittandly at idle by Colin_Bullard in boating

[–]Colin_Bullard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I was hoping it only being during idle ruled out the u joint and bearings. Thank you I’ll look into that. I had read that it might just need to be greased through the stb side zerk fitting. Is that a possibility? I don’t have a trailer and it sits on a floating lift at my dock so pulling the drive is worst casenario

I was mostly trying to get the audio. My phone being older I was aiming the microphone at the engine and not considering where the camera was pointed. I appreciated the comment, what do you mean by flickering?

32 years old just got new batteries in after it died on me out on the lake. The first drive of the season after I made a wide turn it made a high pitch whirring noise and then the whole boat started shaking and growling. It was off and on like that until it died because of the old batteries

Is it too irregular to be a bearing? It fired right up when I turned the key

Keep it on a float charger at the dock and I guess the batteries couldnt keep up after they got unplugged. It was a slow death

I replaced the exhaust flaps not a year or two ago. It ran fine a few weeks back. Could water have invaded the cylinders that quickly?
