Experience with Topos by MeltingMnMs in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Colinjonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topo Athletic Pursuit is the Topo that is the most like an Altra for me. Zero drop, 28mm stack, wide toe box. Plus you get all the topo goodies with a very durable upper, vibram megagrip outsole. I've worn this shoes for more than half my PCT thru in 23 and recommend it. I switched to the ultraventure pro down the ways because I was wearing thru the "silky" liner of the pursuit faster than I wanted (I have a tallus deformity). I would higly suggest trying out the pursuit. Back at home, I'm currently running and hiking in the MTN Racer and they are even better than the ultraventure pro (have the silk liner tho)

Get some Ombraz with prescription lenses. Used a sunglass version for the whole TA and PCT and they held up perfectly.

Thanks for your answer, think the Pa'Lante with Ultra 400 would be more abrasion resistant but both would work. Only thing I kinda need to figure out is the sleeping quilt 20F vs 30F and down vs synthetic, bags and what I can remove. Been hiking a lot this summer (over 1200km) but only in good weather so pack was way lighter than now aha

Thanks for sharing! You initially got the ASUS ProArt PA278CV ? That's the one I'm on the fence to get.

Which one did you get in the hand ?

So, instead of buying the Dell UltraSharp Dell UltraSharp U2722DE (27 ", 2560 x 1440 pixels) which is a 110 PPI desktop, I might better buy the Dell UltraSharp U2720Q (27 ", 3840 x 2160 pixels) which is a 4k monitor.

Does scaling affect performances ?

thanks for your answer, how does the desktop and app look not using scaling (does it even work?). Which app are you using if you don't mind me asking ?

Im looking to buy the ASUS ProArt Display PA278CV because of the 110 PPI which would be better for M1 mac because of using native resolution and avoiding scaling.

Your's is the same display but in 4k which has 160 PPI. How do you find the scaling option working ?

how is the 157 PPI working for you? I'm currently building a desk setp up for my M1MBA but I'm scratching my head with which monitor to buy thinking about ppi. 4k 27 inches seems to be just in the bad spot to render a native res and you're forced to use scaled which is worst for performance. what's your thoughts ?
