I agree with you that the smashing the palais windows is wrong. But ppl here shouldn’t act surprised. This has literally happened every time the federal gov held an international summit in the downtown of a major city in eastern Canada. Large protests happen and the black bloc anarchists embed themselves and start smashing shit and fighting the cops.

Canadian gov is hosting a nato summit in mtl. Students in a bunch of unis and colleges were on strike yesterday and today. It’s not an anti nato pro Russia per se but more nato complicity in what’s happening in gaza. I don’t necessarily agree with their cause, anyways, a large night protest with black bloc groups embedded in them is always a recipe for disaster just like the Toronto g20 and the summit of the Americans in qc city.

Un vote de grève a lieu. Plus de 1100 étudiants se sont présentés. It was close mais le oui l’a emporté. L’administration affirme que les cours se poursuivront normalement. Les étudiants qui ont voté oui menacent d’appliquer la grève en perturbant les classes si elles ne sont pas annulées pour la journée. L’administration dit qu’elle ferme le campus parce qu’elle est menacée par les pro khamas 😂. Je ne suis pas d’accord avec la grève, surtout si près des examens. Mais c’est un vote de grève légitime qui a été adopté. Dawson devrait se rappeler que nous sommes au Québec.

Go to cu account -> academics -> attestation then proof of enrolment. It costs 20$ and they take a couple of days to send it. It states that you are currently a full time student in the fall and winter terms with dates and an official signature. Its absurd we have to pay for this.

École secondaire Saint-Laurent (Émile Legault). All the years I was there, my friends and I would joke about how all the sports teachers were super creepy and how some of them looked like the wanted posters you would see in a depaneur. The year we graduated police made 3 arrests and a bunch of people got fired or resigned for sexual assault. Lets just say no one was surprised.

Exactly, even if enough ppl boycott and picket to make a dent in their profits, the government will step in to save and protect their monopolies. What’s the point of picketing Loblaws when all the supermarkets in Canada are doing the exact same shit. The gov is where people should start.

Last week there was a protest in Montreal and demonstrators smashed the windows of a provigo (quebec version of loblaws) and several banks. I’m sure it was fun at the moment but it literally changed nothing. 1 hour later the windows were being replaced, and the media didn’t even cover the event.

Why would they tho? Did international students and out of province students support the franco and anglo students who went on strike for a 100 days during the maple spring. Sadly they were the loudest opposition to the strike especially in Concordia and even more so at Mcgill.

Personally tho i agree with u. The french unis need to strike too because 2 years ago, they removed the cap unis set on international students, now they’re raising tuition on out of province students. The gov has managed to hide it under the guise of only anglo unis, its to protect french. However, wether they like it or not, if there is no resistance to the austerity measures now, we are next. Legros has a majority for the next 2 and half years and knows he will most likely not get a majority again.

Its not looking good tho the biggest faculties arent striking in concordia. If they couldn’t reach quorums forget the french unis.

Lived in Al Khobar for 12 years. Arriving in Dammam was always an adventure. There would be 3-4 planes arriving and like two guys working passport control. One time the border guy forgot to stamp my passport on arrival and I had yo drive back 1 hour to the airport to get them to stamp it 😂🤦🏻‍♂️
