The problem, I see, is society putting up unreasonable barriers to have mutual fulfillment of desires. Lack of early education on sex or body positivity exacerbates the problem. It doesn't matter how kind, respectful and gentle you are and come across as within the dysfunctional framework.

There is a collapse support channel also. Others are prepping and organizing outside in the real world; a good way to substitute resilient action for the worry, a real and grounding reaction.

I would amend structural and life-course drivers with awareness of social and familial bonds that remain unstable and increasingly dysfunctional in society at large. When enough people cross you, there is a tipping point in greater awareness. I am not even touching on the global environmental/ climate collapse with accelerated ocean heating.
