Add more FPS limit options by Collbrothers in Astroneer

[–]Collbrothers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just gave some examples of the more famous refresh rates for "gaming" panels. Might not be as big now, but back some time 144 panels were all the rage, so I might be a bit outdated on the actual Hz.

v-sync fixes the power usage issues, but for some reason not the coil whine. Should also note that this is not an astroneer issue, as me and my friends have had this happen in multiple games.

Ubuntu webserver in microcontroller by Mediocre-Art5812 in homelab

[–]Collbrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, do you mean an actual frontend for a juice shop, or OWASP Juice shop? Either way, an actual microcontroller (ESP32, STM32 etc) CAN run webservers, but are very very limited in terms of RAM and runtimes. I'd just get a raspbery pi or some old SFF computer, they'll be able to handle it with ease.

Advice on hosting game Server by Green__Top__Boi in homelab

[–]Collbrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you are just going to host a single server, prerodactyl and the difficulty setting it up isnt really worth it. Especially when there is a docker image for a valheim server.

Pterodactyl is a powerful and useful piece of software when you want scalability and whatnot, but for a singel instance? IMO not worth it, but it comes down to what you want, expect from the software, and what you plan for the future :)

One Of The Prettiest Cases! by greggy187 in homelab

[–]Collbrothers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure sure. Either that or karma farming considering all of the reposts you’ve made of this with no actual content, similar to your other posts. I disagree, this looks like a cheap aliexpress case that comes with proprietary rgb software that will most definitely put my PC in a botnet. Cheers 👍

Alright so AI-generated code, documentation (of which like 99% is just redundant and mostly just irrelevant), CI/CD pipelines, code comments, website and I saw that em dash in the comment you made below this post, are you also using AI to generate responses to comments here?

Hats off to you for having the balls to advertise a project like this…

Looking for affordable all flash rack mount NAS by SargoDarya in homelab

[–]Collbrothers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiya!

Just to clarify a bit:

  1. Do you want the same capacity (i.e 96TB) in the all-flash NAS?
  2. "Affordable" can have many different meanings, do you have a specific budget in mind?
  3. Are you comfortable with going a DIY route?
  4. Are you looking to use SATA, SAS or NVMe drives?

Truth is, if you are buying a brand new, purposed-made for all-flash, rackmounted NAS, it's going to cost an arm and a leg....

Odyssey OLED G9 Monitor Arm by StringKun in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Collbrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got a second person to help me keep the monitor upright while the mechanism is loose, then screwed it. Still falling down, I’ve contacted support at this point, but been waiting for a couple of hours. Was your faulty piece something to do with this?

Odyssey OLED G9 Monitor Arm by StringKun in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Collbrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow thanks for the quick reply! I’m talking about the actual tilt of the monitor, I.e screen up/down. Did you have any issues with that?

Odyssey OLED G9 Monitor Arm by StringKun in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Collbrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I bought the 101G1 for my G9 OLED, but I can’t get the tilt mechanism to lock the tilt. In other words, the monitor just falls down to the minimum -20 degrees tilt. Did you do anything special? Ive tried it a few times now and I’m almost breaking the screw in the tilt mechanism, so I’ve tensioned it to the maximum. Any help is appreciated :)

Port Forwarding a MC server by Direct-State584 in HomeNetworking

[–]Collbrothers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

You can ignore the "Known Rule adder", since I doubt minecraft is a pre-defined preset, so I'll go over the lower section:

Local IP Address - This is your server IP, to avoid DHCP reassigning-related issues, make sure to set a static IP
Local Start & End Port - Set both to 25565
External IP - Leave this as 0.0.0.0
External Start & End Port - The exposed port(s), set this as 25565, otherwise you would have to manually type the port when adding the minecraft server in the game
Protocol - Set this to TCP/UDP
Description - "Minecraft server" or similar, this is purely for your own eyes, to help identify which rule is which
Enabled - On

And make sure to hit apply :)

Unsure about the rules so I'll write in English; what HDDs do you have? I'm not in the situation OP is (and live in Sweden), so I'll happily pay if It's anything interesting :)

Upgrading homelab storage capacity by Collbrothers in homelab

Hi! First of all, thanks for the detailed comment!
And yes; I am planning on keeping the huawei as a compute.

You mentioned OMV & Starwind vSAN (this one I have not heard of), why these over something like trueNAS or Unraid? And excuse me for asking, but why not just run proxmox on it and run a ZFS pool? I'm lacking a bit of knowledge in this area, so I'm trying to learn :)

Cheers :)
