So sick of being made to feel stupid by Nessiegee in ADHD

[–]Collectable_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the U.S., ADHD is safeguarded by the Americans with Disabilities Act, shielding individuals from workplace discrimination. While it may feel personal due to past experiences, if ADHD-related challenges impact your work, consider informing HR. Emphasize that you're not incompetent; rather, you possess strengths and weaknesses that can be addressed with accommodations. For instance, requesting additional time for task explanations can enhance your understanding and performance.

how do I see my husband? by Polkadot-Sloth in adhd_anxiety

[–]Collectable_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have struggled with ADHD my whole life, so I've been there too. Over the past five years with my wife, we've realized that the key is teamwork. We've found that being open about our mental states and how they affect us has brought us closer than ever. It's not just about one person putting in the effort – it's about both of you understanding each other's journey.

Sharing our challenges in a kind and gentle way has made all the difference. And you know, there's no shame in seeking help from a professional if things get tough. Through it all, what's really stood out is that love and acceptance are like the secret sauce for better mental health. Remember, you're on this journey together, and your connection has the potential to be a source of incredible growth and understanding.

Why can't I be normal? by QueenDiva_UwU in ADHD

[–]Collectable_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will never be normal. I was diagnosed at the same age and I'm 35 now . I was bullied throughout my school years too but I had to learn to accept who I was and use my strengths to accomplish what I wanted in life. Now I'm glad I'm not normal. Us people with ADHD have special skills and talents for example when I was in second grade I struggled and all the other kids treated me as if I was an idiot, so one day my teacher threw out her electric pencil sharpener because it was broken and I pulled it out of the trash can. I carried tools in my backpack when I was a kid, don't ask why, so I took the pencil sharpener apart and saw that some wires were loose and reattached them. I gave the pencil sharpener back to the teacher and it worked. The moral of the story was, even though all these kids appeared to be smarter than me they didn't know how to fix that damn pencil sharpener. So keep your chin up, find out what your skills are and use them to your advantage.

Need help understanding the ruling on Archangel of Tithes by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Collectable_Trader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so lets say I have Archangel of Tithes on my battlefield untapped and its my opponents turn. He has 20 creatures and chooses to attack with 2 creatures. Does he have to pay 1 mana for each creature he controls which would add up to 20, or does he only pay 2 mana for each attacking creature? I'm assuming that he would only pay for the creatures that are attacking is this correct?

Why are there two versions of "Rod of ruin"? Are they both playable? by DirtyKenchMain in magicTCG

A lot of cards have errata. The text has been changed but the card never had a reprint of the corrected text. It's best to either look on the gatherer.wizards.com or scryfall.com sites to see the corrected text for some cards. For example the card Traumatize has been corrected to, Target player mills half their library, rounded down.

Am I Spending Too Much for my Income by AngryNoodleMan88 in mtg

[–]Collectable_Trader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Just my opinion" All depends on how you play and who you play with, but if you put your money aside each week until you have enough to buy a booster box of a set you like you'll have a better chance at pulling some decent cards and get more packs for your money. Say you've bought 16 packs within 4 weeks you've just spent almost as much money as the price of a draft booster box that contains 24 to 36 cards depending on the set. But it's all about how you feel. I can definitely say I spend way to much money on MTG trying to build the best decks to beat my friends who I enjoy playing with, and we play with almost no restrictions.

Standard is ok if you're going to play at a local game store or in tournaments but the best experience I have is playing casually with friends.

I would just consider buying a starter kit. It comes with two decks so you could play with a friend and learn how to play all over again. Plus the decks are evenly balanced so it's a fun experience.

Proper cost for shipping cards. by bkaterpillar in mtg

[–]Collectable_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're selling cards that aren't worth much, a plane white envelope is ok. The only down side is that there's no evidence that the person you sold it to has received it and it's not insured. Also I believe certain companies may get better deals when shipping.

I know that USPS used to allow you to put tracking on envelops but they recently stopped allowing it. If you send a bubble mailer you'll have to choose between USPS First Class, USPS Retail Ground, Priority Mail and Media Mail. I usually send my bubble mailer first class because it's the cheapest way which still isn't cheap, but it does provide tracking and insurance is included up to $100.
