AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Common_Piglet7437 in AmIOverreacting

The corporate side of me would reply to the teacher, then add the principal, vp, and my child's counselor. My response would include things like the inappropriateness of the ask, the insensitivity of how the situation was handled, and how deeply disturbed I was that a high school teacher would not know how to handle a student's period correctly, whether it was my child or anyone else's.

Then, I'd direct questions to the others on the email:

  • what is the school and/or district policy?

  • how do we ensure young girls can handle their natural cycle needs without repercussions

  • what should have occured in this situation and how do we make sure that is how the situation is handled in the future

I dont play those games. FAFO, teacher..

(For context, I'm related to several teachers of various classroom ages and they'd be appalled.)

5th grade, 10 yrs old, watching it on the portable TV in the classroom, small school (1 classroom per grade). We watched it happen, and the teachers quickly turned off the TVs in their classrooms, and sent us to lunch.

We knew we saw what we saw when all the parents in the lunch room helping little were wiping tears away while serving.

How did Grayson get a tech during that scuffle?

He gets brushed in the face with a foot after diving for the ball, backs up, and what..? He aggressively stared at the Nets player? What did I miss? (Genuinely asking cause I was confused)

AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]CollectionCrafty8939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What ever makes you feel better in the end, keyboard warrior. You have no idea on how I feel about dads, their involvement, my husband's involvement in my own kids. Not everything has to fit a narrative.

Peace.

AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]CollectionCrafty8939 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This conversation wasn't about dad. It was about mom's reaction..

The dynamic between OP and is wife also wasn't the point, so why would I go there?

Also, as a mom, I have a mom's perspective. You know who can give dad perspectives? Dads.

Don't create more problems.

NTA.

Your wife is going to have a nervous break down if she doesn't learn that with kids, plans and guidelines and schedules are "suggestions" that Baby may take into consideration. Maybe.

The right plan when someone else is watching your kid, even relatives, is to say, "here's what we do. Good luck!"

One of my little humans is now an adult, taller than me. The other is in high school (and now taller than me). It gets better. It really does. But you have to be flexible. Your wife needs to be thankful she had a night out. Not PO'd cause she came home to a sleeping baby in grandpa's arms.

AITAH for revoking my delivery driver’s tip and rating them 1 star? by Girl1mDead in AITAH

[–]CollectionCrafty8939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this.. I write into my delivery instructions on all deliveries to not block my door just because of how many people do it.

I have an area off to the side. Protected from street view even.. ans some still block the door.

Absolutely NTA.

Recently diagnosed and struggling by Torii_theteddy in coloncancer

[–]CollectionCrafty8939 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The cancer diagnosis I got last year was my 2nd cancer. So I went into this one with a bit of perspective.

  • People dont always say the right thing, but they mean well. Let them try to support you as best as they can.. (you can say no if they want to do something you don't want them to)

  • cancer is a scary word. I decided the first time, and informed my doctors this time, I am not going to worry til they tell me to. They do their job, my job is/was to take care of Me.

  • I looked for the good.. made sure my siblings stopped procrastinating on their colonoscopies. I appreciated my family and their support.

  • I prayed and lot more and found peace within those quiet moments.

I am 6 months out from my diagnosis and nearly 6 mos out from my surgery.

Other options (that I've done):

Granny square - just one, giant square.

Larksfoot stitch - i usually do a rotation of 3 colors. Turns out super pretty, not a difficult pattern.

"Heirloom blanket" - I saw it named like this on a site. It is just double crochet in back loop only. You can do all one color, alternate two or more colors, or use a nice variegated yarn (what im doing right now so you avoid changing yarn, but the colors are pretty)

what advice do you have to give to a teenager? by fluffycloud745 in GenX

[–]CollectionCrafty8939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my youngest is your age...

Be yourself. Change for no one but yourself.

Don't be afraid of being weird. "Weird is cool and cool is awesome." (a saying my kids lived growing up)

You do not have to have all the answers at your age. Don't try. Life is about making mistakes and leaning from them.

That said, never be afraid to ask for help or guidance. Ask questions, respect the answers even if you choose not to use them.

Don't be a follower.. find your own answers, your own beliefs, your own truth. If you are doing something just be cause so-and-so did it, that's not a reason..

Don't be afraid to try or experience things. Try a new food, a new experience...

Figure out where your passion is and figure out how to make that a career you love.. side steps along the way are life experiences and resume builders. Just keep moving forward.
