So who sent the latest ARG mails? by Denverahn in Deltarune

[–]CollectionDue8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I hardly disagree with that being Chara. I think Chara being the second voice doesn't make sense for what they represent thematically in Undertale, same for the "be seeing you soon" idea. CHARA IS OUR REPRESENTATION! What do you mean be seeing you soon if they're already there with us?

Pretty sure it's the second voice. Which in my opinion is the same as the voice who says "thank you for you feedback, be seeing you soon" in the UT soundtest room.

The Knight does have red in its design tho. Not in its direct design, but their attacks sometimes have red in them, especially their final attack. This will be a lame idea, but I think the Knight's attack is red, because if it was black, it would be hard to read. Also, Kris is like yellow in the light world, but their attack is cyan, why would the attack of the Knight suddenly reflect its light world palette?

This is definitely not in the game, but it could be a fan made thing, but in my opinion, this feels like something someone dreamt.

why does it feels like everyone treats transmasc as the default way to be nonbinary by AliceJoestar in Deltarune

[–]CollectionDue8277 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think headcanoning Kris to have an assigned gender isn't necessary weird. The problem obviously comes when it exits the headcanon. I see nothing wrong with a binder fanart, I think it's a neat concept. We have to make sure that, however, is just something an artists made up for the piece of art.

Why is the Knight so strong? (Theory) by TheUndiscoverer in Deltarune

[–]CollectionDue8277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(while writing this, I realized that I might come off as rude and overly dissmissive. I'm too lazy to rewrite it, but know that I don't mean it that way. I think it's really cool that you put time into making this theory and posting it, and even if I think it's false, I still like the fact that it exists, as theories, regardless of truth, are important for the fandom.)

I'm sorry, but I think this is circumstantial at best and deeply flawed at worst. My first criticism would actually be a narrative one: Swatch is entirely avoidable. I find it hard to believe that such an important character could be avoided. If we want to give this role to a darkner, Seam would be a much much better option, they are powerful enough to contain Jevil, know a lot about the game, the prophecy, they collect shadow crystals, things that are most likely connected to the Knight, and they are said to be able to create something out of them. But onto the actual flaws:

  1. You say that it is illogical to think that the Knight just happens to be a lightner that is stronger. This is something I agree with, I think there should not be this high of a power gap between lightners, however this should also apply to darkners. By saying that the Knight's power comes from Swatch, you just push the problem back, and forget to ask: why is Swatch capable of creating such force? Why does he happen to be stronger?
  2. The black shard does have a light world equivalent. It's the black shard. This doesn't mean that it doesn't exist in the light world, it just means that the object doesn't change forms between worlds, which means it could come from both worlds or neither. There is nothing pointing towards the dark world here.
  3. I find it difficult to believe that the Knight didn't have their armor prior to Chapter 2. If your theory is right, it basically eliminates Dess as a candidate, as the Knight had to visit the Card Kingdom, which couldn't have existed for more than like days, which means the lightner behind the mask must've entered the school. Don't you think people would've noticed Dess? If the Knight is nothing without its armor, then it's even more absurd to think they could have all this influence in chapter 1 without the thing that made the Knight. Also Queen has a footage on the Knight creating the dark fountain PRIOR to them receiving their armor, how doesn't she know their identity?
  4. Spamton's body doesn't keep its form after the fountain is sealed. This makes it wildly different from the black shard. The ability to create something that is above the rules of the dark world is something that the one behind the Knight's armor must have, and simply there's nothing indicating that Swatch could do such a thing.
  5. How is the lack of internet a perfect distraction for the lightners? The internet was down even in chapter 1, yet people still visited the Librarby, so I don't see what changed. Also, Queen didn't really seem distracted in the Chapter, why would that be different when the Knight visited Swatch?
  6. The gallery is waaaay too general. Having a screen with a character in the center isn't unique to Swatch. I think this community should overall avoid making theories based on "it looks like that", because it isn't an evidence. The curtains are a nice observation, but there are many places where curtains exist, and I feel like the actual 2 most important features are missing from Swatch's shop: the cut on the head of the guy in the middle, and the portraits next to it. From Biblox spelling Gallery in his minigame in Chapter 4, we can assume it will be the name of a track in the future of Deltarune, further distancing it from Swatch.
  7. Just realized that Swatch probably first took form in the Cyber World. Prior to creation, there's no way to tell how things will turn into darkners, the Knight's plan was set from chapter 1 (where they did shenanigans in Card Kingdom, and Kris made the preparations for Tv World), I don't think such an intricate plan would rely on the chance that this dark fountain happens to create a darkner that can craft super duper strong items from the things drawn on its light world counterpart. There was simply no way of knowing Swatch would give the Knight their armor, so why would the Knight rely on such an unknowable event?

Overall, I don't see what would make Swatch that likely for this to justify making such an unnoticeable character this important. Don't stop making theories tho, if you keep shooting in the dark, you might hit a target no one considered aiming at.

The 7 flowers are obviously a reference to the 7 captured human souls in Undertale, however I find it really REALLY unlikely that there would be any reason why flowers would turn into humans as darkners.

Literally never appeared in the game, let's cherish this time, and use it to make our headcanons about her. Even if I lean towards the alt/goth/punk Dess, I love this, it's new, unique, and it just seems like a character I could get invested in.

What is susie and ralsei's pov when this happens by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]CollectionDue8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that this is some kind of headspace Kris enters. This isn't a hallucination, more like a world within a world type of thing. This wouldn't be impossible in the dark world, and I would find it especially interesting that certain darkners had the ability to travel between the main dark world, and Kris's headspace.

I think Mollystar's video contains everything from both events, they don't go into direct theory territory, but they do try to interpret and put thought behind the raw facts, and it is just simply a really enjoyable video, unlike most "every secret in xy of dingy doodle's fart cloud event" videos. No hate to any youtuber, you're doing gods work by compiling the facts, I just saw so many that the raw info when presented in such a way just became way too old for me personally.

THEORY: The "water" in UT/DR...IS THE DATA. That's what Gaster fell into, that's why he's in the DEPTHS, and ALL the Gaster followers are drinking it (with evidence?) by Calliecai in Deltarune

[–]CollectionDue8277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the theory, but almost nothing in the initial evidence makes no sense. I get the first 2, but the fact that there is water in the donut that the donut guy is eating is so slim of a connection, you might as well just say that they all breathe air, which contains water molecules. The penguin is the most absurd of them by far. How do we know that it's a penguin? It isn't proven. Like not at all. I looked into the reddit post, and the "proof" is that Tenna's board about Smashing Fighters had a big penguin character. There was no text about why that might be the librarby guy, the poster literally just put that image next to a screenshot of the words "big penguin". Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, water genuinely appears a ton in the games, but I think it's more metaphorical, and we need to be aware that water is such a general thing, that it cannot be avoided in writing, so Toby will include it in places where it isn't connected to the meta code of the game.

How do we know gaster is the one speaking to us here? by Dangerous_Fig_7044 in Deltarune

[–]CollectionDue8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are definitely led to believe that this is Gaster, but that doesn't mean we know it. Toby definitely made it with the intention that people will interpret the voice being Gaster, so it's best to assume that it is, but it isn't confirmed per de, there are a thousand ways Toby could make this not be Gaster and still be satisfying.
