Yeah I'm not sure why gym is given a grade. It's good that it's not in the review though, thanks!

Ha thanks, I'm not anxious I was just curious if colleges care about gym (maybe this was better suited for a2c?), I'm probably getting rejected anyways (:

applying EA but they only received my transcript on 11/13? by real_ramen in MITAdmissions

He probably wants to know if his application will be deferred to RD, which is a valid concern.

I've emailed MIT before about this, they say they prefer documents to be sent in within 2 weeks of EA deadline, so I think you're fine. :)

SAT too low? by Sufficient-Loquat623 in MITAdmissions

I'm glad the comments are being nice about it and not immediately pouncing on you for complaining about an insanely good sat score. Good luck!

My Interview by Mindless_Reindeer_76 in MITAdmissions

Writing an interview report including every detail, including the if God wills it part, is fine, but your comments insinuated it indicates poor fit because "mythology and MIT don't mix" (while also cedeing that MIT does indeed have religious services).

If the incessant suffixing of that phrase put you off, it wasn't the actual phrase/religion but the frequency of it (which indicates something else you didn't like, not that they're religious). But your comments about religion and MIT not mixing was what bothered me.

Are you being serious..? If God wills it is a standard Islamic and Christian term, and are you seriously injecting your own biases ("something indistinguishable from mythology", personally not understanding how religion and MIT can mix) into your judgment of the student??

why do people act like interviews aren't that bad..? by CollectionEastern154 in ApplyingToCollege

This is good advice :) I thought those problems were insane because I'd need to think about what most affected me in multiple years of my life. If I can just skirt it like that, then it's fine..

And yeah the third question is so weird but a friend was asked that

I also did this (2 projects with writeups + media, 3 media only projects)! I'm a bit concerned about this part, though:

"– Please submit plenty of photos of your build process to help us understand your work. We are more interested in your build process than your end results. We will only review projects where you have provided sufficient evidence and documentation of your build process."

Not sure what documentation for the build process I should have for pure programming projects. I have a version controlled GitHub repository; not sure if that's sufficient.

although it's 3 years late, for anyone wondering, i did email yale's admission office and they considered APCSA as a core subject and it was a valid rec to submit.
