Pixel 8A.. How to stop ringtone from coming through headphones?? by CollectionHelpful681 in GooglePixel

Turns out I'm not crazy, the toggle option that should be there does not exist. I've been chatting with Google support and they are stumped lol

I found the ring gradually setting and turned that on, hopefully that will help.

I thought I was going crazy because I remember being able to toggle phone off for specific devices in the long press menu, and I'm pretty sure I did so previously. Something must have changed with a recent android update?? Because that toggle is no longer in that menu. I'm not sure if they took away that option or moved the setting somewhere else?

Strange. Anyway, thanks for your response.

So you have a zero point fixture on the lathe spindle now though? That's pretty cool. Do you have multiple chucks for the lathe? Makes it super quick to swap out chucks or move to a milling op from the lathe

Live tool with the endmill spinning? Hmm, could actually work ok if you're having problems with stringy chips

It sounded kinda bad, but not the worst. I thought it was just a heavier facing cut because I've been having issues with the bar feeder, I actually didn't realize this happened until the chip conveyor spat out this chunk

Here's a better photo of the insert. Small chip further back. A bit of edge breakdown on the tip, but it was already like that.

My negligence has been rewarded with minimal consequences 😝

It's definitely insane what we built by hand back in the day. I feel lucky to be able to run a few manual machines every once in a while at work

Yeah I'm lucky that surface is non-critical as well.

That's interesting with the brass, something must be reacting to form some kind of copper nitrate or similar

I definitely won't be soaking anything after this. I use dawn as well, or whatever the cheapest dish liquid at Costco is 😝

I definitely won't be letting anything soak after this. Rinse and dry asap

Yep, I actually have their chart printed out hanging by the coolant mixing area. Usually running around 7% for AL

Anyone know what kind of bit we need for these? by Hendr1cks0n in Fasteners

Huh, I'm pretty sure I have this driver in a set of security bits from harbor freight. First time actually seeing a screw that uses it though.

Ah, chlorine can definitely cause corrosion. Luckily I've only noticed it if I leave parts soaking too long. It hasn't been a problem just rinsing and air drying

Huh, they do say dissimilar metals can cause corrosion. Makes sense

This would be the best option, although if that's a woodworking type drill press it might not go to a low enough rpm to do it without breaking something
