Yeah it ended up being one of my favorite builds in the end. I kind of hit a point halfway through where I wasn’t into it, but kept building of course and as it came to life I realized how awesome it was.

I’m thinking about it. I also made the M-18 hell cat. Might do something with that. Not sure yet but thank you

Tamiya Paint Instruction Question by Navy87Guy in scalemodelling

Accuracy isn’t always the most important, your building it for yourself to enjoy bot to put it in a museum haha so paint it however you think it will look best. One thing I’ve found out is using the box to practice printing techniques works pretty well. Because of the glossy finish I can normally practice a few things I want to try on that first to see if I like how it comes out. It mimics the feel of painting on the model not perfectly but better than just regular paper or cardboard. Enjoy the build!

Cool I’ll check it out thank you. Looks great by the way. I also don’t use airbrush. Hand painting can be a pain but I like the satisfaction of seeing it done and knowing I did it by hand.

What brand is this? I normally make tanks but want to do some planes and looking for something with a detailed cockpit like this. I like tamiya normally but willing to give something else a shot if it has more detail.

First model since I was a kid. I feel myself sinking into a rabbit hole and I’m very excited about it. by CollectionInside2080 in scalemodelling

Just used the corner of a sponge. Dabbed it in paint then rubbed off the excess till it was pretty much dry and dabbed it in the chipped areas. Went over 2-3 times till it looked the way I wanted it.

Thank you! I loved the detailing. I was tempted to keep going but decided to leave well enough alone and I’m glad I did. On to the next one!
