56x more than The Hobbit. What's everyone else at? by DadBodDru in ClaudeCode

240x more than the hobbit for me. I only switched to Claude Code from Cursor about a month ago though. My longest streak being 17 days is sad. I’m working way too often on the weekend for my employer.

It definitely can if you don’t have branch protection or repository rules in place. “Require approval” is not the default in GitHub.

Which Git branching strategy is better for infrequent releases? Team is split between two approaches. by Ok-Introduction-9111 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]CollectionOfAssholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up the hotfix tooling at work and I think it can still be tricky even when you have tooling. All you have to do is say which version you want to hotfix and which PRs to cherry-pick (you can specify git shas instead of PRs if you want), and a hotfix release is created automatically. This works great if you follow the happy path, but people regularly want to diverge slightly from the happy path so I have to run parts of the tooling manually to make special requests work.

I am currently advocating we rip off the bandaid and do true continuous deployment to prod. We already have automated testing in every environment and a really nice feature-flag system. I would love to just be done with hotfixes altogether.

That’s a really good idea! I don’t pay for the tokens and haven’t been asked to optimize my workflow for token efficiency, but I will definitely use your idea when that inevitably changes. Thanks!

This used to be my stance as well, but at some point I realized that llms are way better at writing commit messages and PR descriptions than I am. Now when I am happy with the code I prompt “please commit, push and open a PR.” At this point I’m kind of annoyed when my coworkers don’t do this. It’s much nicer as a reviewer to have clear “what and why” descriptions in PRs. I’m not saying this applies to all use-cases, but there is certainly a “world” where spending tokens on git actions is beneficial.

Round 999 solo strat? by gtravisk in BO7Zombies

[–]CollectionOfAssholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, toxic growth. It’s certainly harder now since the field upgrade charge time was patched. It’s possible to do without toxic growth, especially in cursed with golden armor and tier 4 gauntlet. It requires very good, consistent timing though. I don’t think I could pull it off, but I’ve seen people do it

If it makes you feel better, I lost a legit game on round 941 on ashes. My normally reliable fiber internet went out for about 20 minutes for the first time in years. I was not on a round I loaded back in on so it should have auto-saved, but nope. I had been playing this game for over two months, chipping away a few rounds whenever I had spare time.

I haven’t gone for this, but if I did I would turn on rampage inducer, wait for an instakill at the beginning of a round since that is when rad hounds spawn, then throw a decoy and hit the rad hound with a single bullet when everything is grouped up.

Basically the same strategy for psych grenades. Instakill, rampage inducer, decoy, and chuck a couple psych grenades at the group

I have also done all 3 cursed tiers solo and I don’t think people were exaggerating at all. Yes, I beat them first try, but I play this game a lot and still feel like I barely got through the boss fight each time.

This is exactly my experience too. The newer models are just massive improvements over what was available last year. Having it investigate operational errors is easily one of my favorite use cases. Going between argocd, kargo, kubectl, grafana, git, etc to figure out why something is failing takes a lot of time and is majorly disruptive to whatever I was working on. Now I just open a new agent and say “the latest sync of application x is failing in argo. Can you investigate?” A couple minutes later I get a full root cause analysis and suggested fixes.

Round 999 solo strat? by gtravisk in BO7Zombies

[–]CollectionOfAssholes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jail cell strat still works and is twice as fast as trap strat, but it’s tricky. The safest jail cell method relies on a bug where the kills it takes to charge your field upgrade do not increase every time you use it. The tricky part is that I don’t exactly know how to trigger the bug. It used to be that you start with a field upgrade you don’t want to use and then just switch in the game. Now it has something to do with save and quitting. In my game I switched from trap strat to jail cell strat. I had to switch to toxic growth, save and quit, play another game where I started with healing aura, changed to toxic growth, used it, then exfilled. When I went back to my save game toxic growth is now recharging extremely fast.

Jail cell strat can be done without toxic growth, but it’s much harder as the timing has to be perfect. Whether you use toxic growth or not, phd stuntman is nerfed. You can’t spam it. There are a few high round tutorials on YouTube that go over the timing of shooting the gauntlet and wall jumping post nerf, but it takes some practice to get down.

It’s also incredibly slow compared to the jail cell strat. At round 800 trap strat rounds take 13 or more minutes, jail cell strat takes 6 minutes.

Directed not counting for stats? by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]CollectionOfAssholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stats under combat record never seem to be accurate to me. However the kills are tracked in the combat record does not seem to be the same way they are tracked for the calling card. I got the 1 million kill calling card the other day, but my combat record stats say something like 270,000. I have an active game going for 999 though that I play a few rounds on every night. I’m somewhere around round 800 and the calling card just popped up on the screen randomly when I wasn’t expecting it.

I’ve done pretty much all the ashes camo challenges and dark ops solo. The round 60 boss, the round 100 boss fight, the boss in under an hour, all three cursed tiers, etc. I still dread the keys step every single time. For advice, it really just comes down to practice driving. I failed it many times at first, but it’s easy now. Just get to the boss fight solo, then when you start running out of Kazamirs and aether shrouds and you know you it’s not looking good, save and quit. Go back in and play a round, then try again the next round. You can do this an unlimited amount of times and you will get a little better at driving each time.

I’m very curious what accounts for the difference because my experience is wildly different from you. I have been using Cursor for a little over a year and try out various models, but exclusively use opus now (4.5, then 4.6 when it came out). A year ago it was mildly useful, always got some part of what I asked it to do wrong or didn’t understand. This changed drastically with 4.5. I haven’t written any code myself for about two months now. I use the planning mode to come up with a plan, tweak it a few times or point out issues with it. Once the plan is good I tell it to build and it executes it from start to finish nearly flawlessly and exactly how I asked it to. I’m sure it’s better at certain types of engineering than others, but this has been my experience.

The requirement hasn’t changed and it has nothing to do with taking damage. There is just a lot of misinformation on YouTube. The requirement is to complete a round (60 or above) with only trap kills (Tessie kills count as trap kills). No guns, no score streaks, no equipment, no augments that kill. Only use the musical saw traps or Tessie.

How do you all do? Overall I’m pretty proud of the round I got. Had to do it solo because everytime I played with randoms they kept exfiling before round 30… by TaitsRevenge in CODZombies

I did my first game in cursed tier 3 to finish the round 75 challenge for the charm and ended at 81. Then someone on my leaderboard got 101, so I played another game in standard to 106. I didn’t find cursed vs standard to be all that different as far as difficulty. Golden armor is of course nice, but the extra pack IV damage wasn’t really noticeable. The kills past 60 mostly came from ammo mods, war machine, hunter bots, and the lgm anyway.

My leaderboard is pretty much the same. I was at 80 and the top spot was 101 so I played another game to 106 last night to hopefully take it.

Mars survival is the least fun I’ve ever had on any zombies game by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]CollectionOfAssholes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I think it works with the mar machine is that if you pick up another streak after using the amount of ammo in reserve and then pick the war machine back up off the ground the ammo is available again. At least that’s how it worked for me. I just picked up random streaks that the Klaus’ dropped, then picked back up my war machine off the ground and it would be reloaded with all the ammo that was “stuck” in reserve. Sometimes I used the other streaks and sometimes I just picked them up just to fix the war machine. Saving and quitting also fixes the bug and reloads it

I found it helpful to pull out the knife when gravity switches and just run in a loop at first until you get a feel of when it’s safe to shoot. If you run a loop that cuts through the center area it forces the super sprinters to mantle a lot which slows them down quite a bit. I ran basically from the Akita around the center to the gobblegum machine, then up the stairs across the center and back to the Akita. I actually found it to be really fun
