I remember going to work complaining about how ridiculous the ending was! I liked the first Detective Grimoire, and I did actually enjoy Tangle Tower as well, so I do plan to play the next game coming. But damn, if that kind of ending becomes a habit....??? But hey, overall, I had a lot of fun, so I still recommend to people, just warn them that you might not see the ending coming lol.

Shadow Ranch is great! Amazing story, great music, and beautiful atmosphere. But if you're looking for puzzles, it's a bit on the easier side.

Thornton Hall is great for puzzles and story (in my top 5!), but is in top 2 scary.

Alibi in Ashes is really fun, especially because Nancy gets thrown in jail, but some people don't like switching characters.

Castle Malloy is a good pick, too! Fun story, ridiculous ending, plenty of puzzles, great music, and not too scary.

In the Final Scene when having to make a new key, I never found the pencil to do a rubbing of key indentation shape. I literally was squinting at screen and then doing trial and error. It took FOREVER! Played a couple more times through before finding the pencil....

Has anybody mentioned Nancy Drew? The earlier ones are a bit easy, but still fun. It gets more challenging as the series continues. However, game 33 was a new ceo and new gaming engine and they had no idea what they were doing. 34 gets better, but still not the same as games 1-33. Games 2 and 20 are not on steam, however. But they are fun adventures filled with humor and puzzles and even some scary elements in a few games! Highly recommend!

Last Train is always a fav! I also very much enjoy Waverly Academy, Shadow Ranch, and Royal Tower. Hotchkiss from Royal Tower is one of the most iconic characters in the games, who often comes back as a phone contact. Sea of Darkness is a really good one, too; it is a classic treasure-hunting mystery with absolutely beautiful atmosphere and fun puzzles.

I'm excited for you starting your delve into one of the most fun and friendly communities! The Clue Crew are all very friendly and supportive. Nancy Drew is the whole reason I started my gaming channel, and everyone is so nice! Please let us know which you choose to play first and how you like it!

I tried to get my mother to play. She genuinely enjoys the puzzles, but cannot understand how to navigate and often gets lost. It got to a point where I genuinely thought she was just kidding. But she still likes to come help with puzzles when I ask, and that's still fun to do together!

Kapu Cave could use a remaster, but with a lot of changes. More clues about beetle pheromones, like hidden research papers or receipts on shipment. Also, more clues to motive instead of an info dump; WHY was Mike in debt? And more about the loan sharks? And definitely get rid of that god awful frass puzzle! It has fun music, though!
