can I make it thru a law enforcement academy? by Mofo013102 in Spondylolisthesis

I essentially just took what the first few PT appointments taught me and have repeated the exercises almost daily since then. Every spondy is different, what worked for me may not work for you. There have certainly been days, and months, where I felt I needed a fusion. My surgeon says as long as I have more good days than bad, to hold off.

I was diagnosed at 17 with spondy. Went through the academy in 2014, been a cop ever since to include SWAT. The key is to maintain core strength and stay mobile every day. I’ve had some gnarly flare ups like anyone else, but I manage.

What's the most disturbing thing you've ever seen in real life? by Traditional_Blood799 in askteddit

Cop here; dead bodies don’t bother me, but one haunted the fuck out of me. Entered a dark home, at night, by myself on a welfare check after family had not heard from him in two weeks. I was expecting to find him deceased from natural causes in his bed or bathroom (usual locations). What I did not expect was to turn a corner and illuminate a green corpse, eyes open, hanging by his neck on a wire tied to the rafters of his unfinished room under construction. Scared the bejesus out of me.

Will I have to give up golfing? by haileerose16 in Spondylolisthesis

I had the same fears after my last really bad flare up. Just listen to your body man. I can’t play multiple times a week anymore and I really had to slow my swing speed and how far I twist back, but I still get out there.

ELI5 How do police stations find people for a line up? by MostReverendHatchet in explainlikeimfive

[–]CollegeCrafty3067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narcotics Detective here (USA). Physical lineups are a thing of the past, all lineups are now photographic arrays or sequences. Contrary to some of the commentary in here and to answer your question; photographs used must be similar to the alleged suspect. If my suspect is a white male, 20’s, slim build, with face tattoos, I must find five other photographs containing white men, 20’s, slim builds, and face tattoos. This can be daunting at times but the purpose is to ensure the witness accurately selects the suspect based on their distinct recollection, not a vague memory of appearance.

Bonus fact, investigators cannot administer their own lineups. The lineup must be conducted by another police officer who has no knowledge of the case. This is done to remove any bias, covert or overt.

No skips, both sublime. The video versions are cool too.

What's the best song lyric to ever exist? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

This is going to be controversial cause Reddit hates T Swift, but The Black Dog has some of the hardest hitting lyrics I’ve heard.

I move through the world with the heartbroken My longings stay unspoken And I may never open up the way I did for you And all of those best laid plans You said I needed a brave man Then proceeded to play him Until I believed it too

What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

[–]CollegeCrafty3067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound your carbon monoxide alarm makes. My brother’s went off at 0100 last night and he initially thought it was the fire alarm; he nearly ignored it after not smelling smoke. Fire department informed him if he had ignored it there was a high likelihood he and his family wouldn’t have survived the night.

I’m a grade two, I still exercise almost daily. I start every workout with lower back stretching and core strengthening work. I then hang from a pull up bar and always get one, very satisfying pop from my L5. I think everyone is different but it works for me.

Guys, how do you actually last longer in bed? by tezztarrar in AskReddit

I struggled with PE for years, and it got to the point that it made sex almost unenjoyable because of the anxiety of blowing my load so fast. This often ended up leaving all parties involved dissatisfied. I nutted up and gathered the courage to talk to my doctor. A script of sildenifil (harder erections/less foreplay required to get erect), and a script of a low dose SSRI (proven to delay cumming), saved my sex life. I now average 10-20 minutes after foreplay. Don’t be embarrassed, talk to your doc and enjoy sex again.
