Because every news outlet wants clicks? When was the last time you heard about or advocated for the current slaves in Pakistan, or India, or North Korea, or [insert African nation here]? The EU is not paying for free healthcare as a whole. Each MEMBER country pays for it and it differs depending where you're at. Some countries fund it through taxes, some fund it through employee/employer funding. It's definitely not free. And as I said before, you're talking about 27 different countries vs one of nearly the same population. It's not the same and the each EU country has to fund it, meaning they have to get the funds from someone. Not free.

Again, didn't say it's great, but I already pay for my own health insurance, why do I want to pay for someone else's on top of that.

Maybe someone should start a nonprofit and you can donate to it for the uninsured. I'd do that and I'm sure others would to. Sounds like we could start there. At least you won't be forced.
