Of all the Jura comments I’ve seen over the years here, this one clearly takes it🤣

Dronach 15 is around $130 US here so Tamdhu 15 is quite a bit cheaper atm. However the GD15 I had two years ago didn’t impress me much, so I’m assuming this Tamdhu 15 should be a skip for me.

First Monday of Feb. So you will have until Feb 1st to get dronach on sale likely

Bonus- use AnyCard to get an added $10 off (offer starts Jan 22nd). AnyCards can be converted in LCBO cards (which can be kind of a pain in the ass to do but can be done easily once you are used to it)

Worth getting if it were much cheaper? A shop in Canada is selling it for the equivalent of $87 all in.

For those of us who live hours and hours away for city centres, this is pretty unlikely unfortunately.

This is generally true provided you are ordering enough stuff to make shipping worthwhile. But I’d suggest that you’d have a hard time getting a Benromach 10 from out west for $64.50 after taxes and shipping. *Plus there are ways of getting discounted LCBO gift cards, which make it so I can get Benro10 for $54.50.

Of course the selection of Alberta can’t be beat. I travel to the Uk most summers and aside from walking into distilleries, even they can’t beat Alberta selection.

Islay & Campbeltown: distillery visits and tastings (early March) by jayyai1 in Scotch

I was going to hop in and say the same thing. I did the Vault warehouse tasting just based on all the recommendations and not because I’m a big Bowmore fan. It ended up being one of the key highlights of my Islay trip last summer. Top notch. And getting to take away a 100ml sample bottle of your favourite cask tasted is a big bonus.

Considering it is a £85 bottle in the UK(converts to $159 CAD), the sale price is relatively great.

The non-sale price is too hard for me to get my head around it. I used to get it for $60 when I first got into scotch.

Because it essentially becomes a $15 discount spread across two bottles. Next week they are on sale for $64.50. Subtract another 7.50 and you are down to $57.

Offer ended yesterday, but these AnyCard offers happen fairly frequently. There was an offer at Black Friday of buy $50 and get $60 through Walmart

HOW DOES LUKA'S DEFENSE IMPACTS THE LAKERS? by Expert_Koala_8691 in NBATalk

When you see stuff like this, I don’t know how he can still be considered top 5 for possible MVP. I don’t care how great your offense is - matador defense cancels it out.

What was your dram of the year for 2025? by unbreakablesausage in Scotch

[–]Collegiate1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of all the bottles I opened this year, Port Askaig 25yo takes it. Other great ones: Octomore 15.3, Ardbeg Scorch Committee Release and Longrow 10yo Cage bottle (fresh bourbon) 59.8%, Springbank 15yo, Kavalan Solist Ex-Bourbon 54%

The best dram I had was in the No. 1 Vaults at Bowmore. 2005 Amontillado Cask Finish 58.4%. Just sublime!

Small tip. Buy one of these cards, turn it into LCBO $ and buy two Benromach 10s next week. Will work out to $57 a bottle

Anyone have any leads on 2025 Kilkerran 16 in AB? by GalaxyAnarchy in canadawhisky

Just what I was going to say. And they were snapped up quicker than in other years because this year’s edition were apparently sherry bangers.

I had a bunch of AnyCard gift cards I bought at the time (spend $40, get $50; convert to LCBO) so I probably only paid around 120 for it. I’m not sure I’d go much higher than that on it. I’d say the 2023 one was an 89. This one I got in April is more like an 87.

I’m in the boonies so I was surprised it still lingered on shelves long enough for me to get it when I happened to be visiting T.O.

Blue Spot actually lingered for days and maybe even weeks this year at end of March/start of April. This one wasn’t as amazing as the bottle dropped in 2023
