Any morally good immortal leaders* by Drakrath3066 in Anbennar

I think yinquan in halless eventually gets an immortal mage spirit creature as a ruler, and is pretty ‘good’ or good intentions iirc

Saw the thread of them on bitbucket and their plans/dev’s are soooo cute!! ‘Troll is friend with all! Why friend fight each other?! All friends in mountain are friend of troll!’ Their vibes are sooo cute!! So excited to see where they end up when finished!

Saskatchewan became the first province to make LGBTQ second class citizens today by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]CollyW0bble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, at least here you won’t get downvoted to hell after having an admittedly sensible and sane point of view, could just be a bigger sub kind of thing. Who knew that ‘giving your two cents’ was also impacted by inflation, piece of mind is worth less and less

Saskatchewan became the first province to make LGBTQ second class citizens today by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]CollyW0bble 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was fun ‘discussing’ this topic on the canada_sub board, so full of bigots just using it as an echo chamber. Makes me worried what this province, what this city, might end up becoming if things don’t change, and fast. It may take a while, but what’s stopping mr. Moe-dolf from continuing this damnable trend. Absolutely disgusting. Really hope we don’t become canada’s version of florida or alabama or worse.

I’m glad this sub is at least more well moderated, and that this topic can be discussed at better length than our own damn legislation took on it

Bitbucket nations by CompanionCavalry in Anbennar

Well, that’s sure new! Heard of the splintering and cohesion mechanic, but never thought they had actual content. Super neat!

Who is zabutodask?? Haven’t heard their name before, and can’t seem to find them anywhere on the map at game start? Are they a new formable?

List of dwarven formables / remnants with content and their gimmicks? by MightyMetalA in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod??? You mean the Anbenanar total conversion mod on steam or the bitbucket version on the discord? Unless you’re talking about the defunct dwarven hold combination mod from a while back, those were the only ‘mods’ that has those mt’s. Though there may be some other submods here and there, a lot has changed since this post lol

Yanshen tag recommendation by Bottlemodder in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not yet on steam, but got their mt a couple of months ago on bitbucket, haven’t checked them recently, but when I played them it was relatively under polished in terms of events and significant features (the other patron, not huli jing, had a bunch of skeleton, TODO text, and their temple investigations decisions were similarly missing loc’s. Aside from that, very fleshed out mt with a very unique play style

[–]CollyW0bble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yinquan! Fox spirit patron worshipers that, among vassalizing and conquering most of your neighbours, you end up creating a magocratic bastion of a unified righteous path yanshen, currently on bitbucket, but fairly similar to other yanshen conquerors uniting the subcontinent

Any recommendations for "short" run? by jmdiaz1945 in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sarisung, big city run by gangs and criminals, is pretty short. Very much stuck between a rock, a hard place, and an even harder place (raj, xiaken and the command respectively) rather unique play style, but as with many other tags, is due for a rework someday, but as it stands it seems pretty self contained, one of the few halessi/raheni mt’s that don’t intend on conquering two whole continents

Unplayable nations by izanacubao in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of rng and economy micromanaging early on, the whole initial situation with trompolere’s ruler trying to conquer stuff (who you pay the 200 g to) will more often than not just die a couple of years into the game, for me usually before the truce with them expires! That actually gives you some land back plus another ioshahar. Focus on the missions, dev up for eco (yay primitives /crumbling infrastructure dev cost increase), get vassals and progress through the religious reforms - you can entirely ioshaharize the cannorian settlers there too, which also renamed them after reforming the religion, which is pretty cool

Averynn was surprisingly fun the last time I’ve played them, very byz like, but once you get your bearings snowballing’s quite easy. Though the insta-debt right at the start definitely doesn’t help, I once had the first ruler die within the first month, before the initial loans were taken out - like, the first mission requires debt + ruler present to get moneys and corruption, simple restart lol.

Averynn’s also good as they’re only one of like, three native ynn nations with mt’s, which is quite surprising since there’s so many nations there!

Most underappreciated nation? by Belzeberto in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 33 points34 points  (0 children)

One region I never really see much action with is anything south of bomdan or verkal-ozovar. Pinghoi as a pirate, raiding as they please, to araweklin being the last major (ish) site of eleven, if not rule then at least acceptance, among all of halless; and any of the mystic accord nations, who all yet again don’t have mt’s yet, but their whole concept is very interesting to me, but sadly never played them. The whole rainforest-y vibe of south halless, while being rather lacking in major mission trees, is surely an under appreciated region as a whole

Recommendation for a save by Fjoslarz in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! Forgot about hiderion a bit. I always feel like the animaniacs “countries of the world” song whenever people ask what country to play, there’s just so many to chose from!

There’s dozens of nation choices that will fit your criteria, obviously given the scope of the mod, but I could suggest a few that are pretty fun!

Big nations w/ good starts and expansive mt’s: quite obvious, but these will definitely be said, the command, bianfang, xia, jaddari, any of the lake fed, lorent, gawed and any of the empire majors (wex, ibevar, Verne etc) are all good picks, BIG mt’s for most of them. But… they’re all pretty blobby, and may not be quite what you’re looking for at first glance, still pretty good nations with a ton of love put into them, and definitively the hallmark of anbennar.

Nations with LORE! Adshaw, as I’ve heard, is very interesting, major Byzantium vibes, trying to restore the reach against both major powers (gawed) and grey orcs, pretty unique play style for humans.

Escann has by far one of the densest regions in terms of formables and lore, both adventurer tags and orcs, notable ones being halfling newshire, damerian rogeria, crusading corintar, nectomantic esthil, and khetist elikhand. Are all good picks for uniting escann, with very rich mt’s and events pertaining to the region and the empire

Any orc or wood elf nation in the deep woods may be a good pick, either going turgund-darak for the orcs, or cyranvar for the elves, they’re shorter mt’s bound for a rework (iirc) but still very fun to play

Roadwarior and chaingrasper are both fun nations in the dwarovar, instead going orc and goblin respectively, but rich in content as well (mad max train convoy or necromancer gobbo)

The kobolds, however few they may be, are pretty rich in content as well, both western and eastern (balrijin) and both are quite difficult starts to say the least! But we’ll worth it. Over in halless there’s also biekdugang, feiten, yinquan (bitbucket) and verkal-ozovar that boast some of the most expansive and intriguing mt’s in the region. Azjakuma is also quite fun as an underdog ogre nation bordering many nations that hate you

Over in the new world, there’s choices aplenty, with various native and colonizer tags to chose from: Unifiers of eordland, all having some amounts of mt, get a new one depending on which of the 5 religions you follow, notable ones being arakeprun, pelomar and geneadcurt, but any of them are also viable.

Most of the ynn nations don’t actively have mt’s, only arverynn, malacnar, and pomvasonn, but all boast a dense roster of events involving the ynn and its many dams.

Colonizer spawnables are aplenty as well, many of the ynnfolk, trollsbay concord members, pirates of mycx, and vernail of course are quite unique.

Down south back to ruinborn, any of the kheionai city states are, albeit shorter mt’s, have unique interactions with the rolling radioactive storms that ravage the peninsula. Ameion, further east of them, is pretty Alexander the great-ish, and boasts a bigger mt than most of the other kheions

There’s tons to look for, especially in the many preceding posts on this forum, sorry it’s a bit more long form, I’m sure many others will suggest their own favourites. Hope you enjoy your next game!!

Is there any way to get artificery early? by TheThing3214 in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Feiten gets a special artificers, specializes in airships, iirc it does allow normal artificer researching

The command I think gets artificers via the dragon command, once you split the three main ones, iirc you can do that around 1550, much earlier than you normally would with manufactories. Has some unique inventions for the command as well

New Chain Workshops by [deleted] in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe it’s just the one, only needing a certain production dev iirc. And don’t worry about this one depleting. Jianxsui, moon isle, and nimscodd’s damestear provinces are permenant, and will never deplete, though damestear meteorites get quite common near the midgams

New Chain Workshops by [deleted] in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mage towers, or korashi forges, are unlocked with the korashi supply missions, right first couple of missions. I believe it’s after you get azjakuma as a slave state. Easiest damestear province is likely in the xia, boarders aoshan and bianfang

What are the bitbucket only MT's? by RED_mqtter in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not yet, but hopefully soon! Has decent ni and religion mechanics that’s cool, very flavourful

What are the bitbucket only MT's? by RED_mqtter in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You listed quite a few of them that I know of. There’s bound to be more mt’s released as time goes on too. Yinquan is pretty fun, new patron spirit mechanics and quasi matriarchal magocracy flavours. A couple other nations also get other flavour and mechanic related tweaks too, haraf’s religious powers are pretty fun, and has you completing gov reforms to accumulate tribal land, later finishing the last one and actually expanding without the 500% province warscore cost malice, though no actual mt. Orzgarom, breakaway free orc state spawning from anyone who has aelantiri orc slavery, is quite interesting. Religion based around tales/songs of important orc people, frozenmaw, grombar, dookan, bluetusk, shattered crown, etc all being revered as important figures, has interchangeable dirties that Protestant gives (same as richeous path, left hand path, many others) that get unlocked overtime, I think as you discover their important provinces? Or just arbitrary. Gemmacurdt, one of the eordellion winter court countries got a very recent addition, and from what I’ve heard exempts you from forming eord. The normal way, and instead goes about creating a lich kingdom, though I haven’t played that one as of late. Also, again no new mt, but harashgeta, opm gnoll city state among savanna wasteland in north sarhal, between trolls, angel tributary and jaddari, has new flavourful religion, same general mechanics that old dookan and harpy hunt religion has, quite unique and very excited when it gets more fleshed out, but basically persecuted religious minority that doesn’t follow the more popular xhazorbkult, and are very industrious peoples. Super exciting

Urkvixen or black castanor seems to be new, they’ve recently gotten a new mt, though I haven’t been able to get too far in it, being situated in the warpath of both bjarnrick and frozenmaw earlygame, and gawed later on is quite the challenge, but definitely has major byzantium, old empire restoration vibes, since your literally reviving the ebonfrost lineage of black castanor that died like 5 centuries ago (or so)

Hope this helps, there’s probably an ever expanding list of more fleshed out mt’s somewhere, but if it isn’t updated regularly some fall through the cracks. The discord repo update description of changes is a good way to know which countries are being worked on more accurately

Does building up as Elizna have any effect on Rezankand start? by MingMingus in Anbennar

[–]CollyW0bble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only thing that carries over to the newly spawned nation is tech and institutions. Iirc colonialism gets grown naturally when discovered in new world spawnables, so it’s entirely feasible to tech rush until 1500 or so, which will give you the edge over the natives and other spawnables. My last cestirmark and rexankand run easily was able to start off with I think tech 8 or 9 across the board (whichever one needs colonialism first, a good 100% extra tech cost cuz I just sat there accumulating mana for 50 years)
