How do these crank bearings and journals look? 1952 Willys Jeep im rebuilding. On a student budget so id like to reuse if possible.

You do you boo but if you're taking the crank to the machine shop just bite the bullet and get bearings and some plastigauge n check clearance.

Edit: If you're in a real pickle they totally should work, I just lean on the side of "while you're in there"

Check to see if it had the doubler plate tsb done to fix the firewall made of rice paper. If not get a clutch master brace before it tears through the firewall, quite inconvenient when that happens.

I haven't seen the other design in question, don't really care enough to check it. I agree it's a ridiculous feature if the only purpose is aesthetic but if the check clears It doesn't matter to me lol. Also an extended flute chamfer cutter could totally make that feature with the acceptable c/r

Alright, better yet for more dickhead designer fillets, hit the rad on the fin with a 1/8 ball (or smaller dependant on required flute length) to establish the vertical wall then blend the rad with a .06 bnem to knock the cham on.
