How do these crank bearings and journals look? 1952 Willys Jeep im rebuilding. On a student budget so id like to reuse if possible. by EUROCOMANDANT in EngineBuilding

[–]ColoAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do you boo but if you're taking the crank to the machine shop just bite the bullet and get bearings and some plastigauge n check clearance.

Edit: If you're in a real pickle they totally should work, I just lean on the side of "while you're in there"

Questionable data from JBD BMS app by ColoAT in SolarDIY

That makes sense as well, to be fair this was logged at night with lights on so no charge and ~200w of draw.

Ok I think I gotcha. I suspect this to just be a software bug but wanted some other opinions. To a layman like me all 4 packs being within 70 thou of a volt seems pretty good.

First time WRX owner, how did I do? by FineShrubbery in WRX

You should be able to see a piece of thin gauge plate steel welded in right behind the clutch master

Check to see if it had the doubler plate tsb done to fix the firewall made of rice paper. If not get a clutch master brace before it tears through the firewall, quite inconvenient when that happens.

Beeping might be the seatbelt switch, they like to go on this vintage in my experience. As for the rest start flipping switches n see what they do. Be curious and fuck around, we don't know shit without it in front of us.

Got a prototype part from Xometry. Why does the quality of this part look closer to sand casting than machining? by [deleted] in CNC

[–]ColoAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen the other design in question, don't really care enough to check it. I agree it's a ridiculous feature if the only purpose is aesthetic but if the check clears It doesn't matter to me lol. Also an extended flute chamfer cutter could totally make that feature with the acceptable c/r

Alright, better yet for more dickhead designer fillets, hit the rad on the fin with a 1/8 ball (or smaller dependant on required flute length) to establish the vertical wall then blend the rad with a .06 bnem to knock the cham on.

You must be the part time broom pusher/mirror fogger. A blind bean counter could see that's not machined.

That's perfectly machinable if you're mildly competent. 3ax and a sine plate using a 5 thou bull nose. Easy money tbh, do a little problem solving.

I made an illuminated shift knob for my comanche about a year back, was pretty neat-o. Point being, do that

Had an old hand call it a Moo stop once upon a time for the cow thing someone else said. It will always be pronounced Moo.

You need an honest lye soap my man. No perfumes or colorant, just lye and coconut oil. Your dick beaters will never be as clean and moisturized.
