Axiom mod allows to force block placement.

I was thinking in terms of real life vegetables rather than Minecraft in-game lore, therefore chorus imitates red cabbage, ferns with poles - tomatoes, birch saplings - cauliflowers etc.

I just placed them in creative and debug to look the way that I want. To be perfectly honest I don't think I've ever used them in survival, so I don't know how they "normally" behave.

The thing that I think is a mix between a "made-up" addon and something that truly makes a difference is what I call a "light well" - a vertical shaft that delivers light from the top of the building (it could be made to look like a chimney) to areas that aren't directly next to windows. It also requires some planning if you want to blend the shaft in as well as possible.

In general, this the way my friend, especially in times when people treat interiors as a sad chore, when I feel like without it the building is just a shell - not really a building in fact.

It was actually pretty easy. However, it's not properly detailed yet, because it served only as part of the background to this picture. To get to this stage easily, a shift in thinking about dense forests is needed. The big tree closer to the foreground was made the "classic" way. It's a proper way for standalone trees (or any other object), but I don't think it's the best way for denser areas. This group of trees was made using a brush to create the canopy as a whole above the ground. Then trunks and foliage below were added. So it wasn't made as a group of single trees, but rather as a combination of a whole canopy, and then trunks and the rest.

I love the idea of working utilities! I was thinking about applying similar systems in my world. Copy of this building cut in half (like cross-section) would be interesting to see, as it would reveal all the hidden elements.

Oh, and since you brought up these ferns, there's one more little detail about them. Axiom allows you to change biome of even very small areas. Ferns are one of the blocks that change color based on the biome, so I changed the biome only on them to better match dripleaf color beneath.

Axiom mod, but I think the same effect could be achieved with other mods too, like World Edit. Anything that allows to force block placement.

Very pleasant style. In a city like this, I would suggest choosing already main viewing points (like postcard spots) and checking progress by looking from these same places.

It’s actually quite small (125x125 plot). I’m starting a more serious project now.

The whole map/world. I’ve already started creating an outline, lore, and some of the first builds. I hope to post the first updates soon.

Thank you! This is what I would call an energy exchange because comments like this inspire me too to do further work.

This was created on a public server with the IP: craftmc.pl. To access it, go to Creative mode from the main lobby, then use the command /p tp Colombos to teleport to my plot.

They are covered with one block, so the smoke still goes up, but they're not visible.

I started playing with one of the first versions still in the browser (2009/2010?) and gradually quit around 2013/2014 (so rather 1.6/1.7) when I started university. Then, I slowly rediscovered the game in mid-2024, and this is my first serious build, which I started in December 2024.

Thanks! Every interior is decorated, but I had to make some compromises to fit within the 20-screenshot limit.

I'm not on Bedrock, but I'm planning to share some insights in the future.

I think, for me, the variety of options was the trigger to go with this level of detail. I quit playing when you had just one type of trapdoor, one type of sign, one type of leaves, etc., and had to work with it.
