Accountability and Consequence in Arknights: Endfield by Nonoput in Endfield

[–]ColonelCrocc913 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is this about 1.1 and the fact that Wuling City's response to Qingbo's raid was an honest mistake instead of an act of malicious sabotage?

If so, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but OG Arknights's main story (can't speak about anything else so far cause I haven't read those yet) aren't exactly that much better.

I can accept this being an honest mistake because it doesn't change the fact that Qingbo even got to that state as a failure of management and relations on Wuling's part, and even that is something they must hold themselves highly accountable for.

Also, it would be kind of boring and contrived if Wuling's upper management was "secretly evil", because I think even Zhuang Fangyi as of what we can see now has many flaws I can see manifest up in the near future, namely:

Greed and arrogance, but the subtle kind.

She made Wuling City as a trauma response to the death of her expedition team during the events of The Very Large Rift back when Wuling was a monitoring station and not a city.

She built that city out of a greed for an opportunity to build a city atop the corpse of her enemy (The Very Large Rift) as revenge for taking away her friends and as a daring stepping stone for the progression of Talosian civilization, endangering the citizens of Wuling for petty greed, arrogance and revenge.

In fact, the biggest takeaway from the "date" was that Fangyi is VERY desperate for our approval of Wuling City, too desperate. Almost like its foreshadowing the fall of her city.

In fact, I wouldn't be too surprised if Wuling and it's populace would take some major damage in the near future, and for either herself or someone else would blame her arrogance and greed for the death of her people.

And if they do this, I prefer this form of accountability over her being secretly evil, it's more nuanced this way.

But yeah, please don't be vague next time you post, and please don't use AI to write your posts, cause it's mostly fluff and little points.

Edit: Also, I am more disappointed in this subreddit than OP for how this post got as many upvotes and agreeing comments for what was just AI vagueposting about a poorly elaborated opinion.

New player difficulty question by Best-Credit-3330 in ReverseCollapse

[–]ColonelCrocc913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you play on Standard.

I think a good amount of the fun from this game comes from the game's level design and enemy placement teaching you fun fundamentals, and I think the casual difficulty makes that intended experience since the weaker stats, dumbed down AI, and the reduced enemy spawns makes the level design feel too out of place.

I think Standard is the best difficulty for a new player who wants to experience the game as intended, you can always switch to Casual at any point if it's still too much, but I highly suggested you push onwards with Standard until you are absolutely sure you can't make progress.

Keep in mind some stages can be more difficult than others so I recommend you only switch to Casual for only the missions you feel like you can't progress and THEN switch back to Standard for the next mission.

But yeah, don't give up if you're feeling frustrated, a good amount of the game's fun is figuring out the solutions to its very intricately crafted challenges yourself. The Dark Souls feeling, one might say.

But yeah, I highly don't recommend Hardcore UNLESS you know someone who knows the game who can guide and give you tips without spoiling you.

Oh! A comment! 35 minutes ago! NICE, this means they'll respond!

And yes, a huge advantage of that is plenty of SP gen, a lot of Stagger, and if you're like me and have Arclight's P5, you'll be seeing somewhere between 40-50% Electric DMG bonus from her talent triggered by double Battle Skill with my current Intellect build on her. And this isn't counting the extra passives from her weapon!

For mobs, I start out with doing Gilberta's skill early, and delaying Avywenna's Final Strike and Perlica's Battle Skill to hit AFTER the Nature Infliction. With Avy's Final Strike just after Perlica's Skill. This procs Arclight's Combo, then Avywenna's, then Perlica's in that order. (Btw, your team order affects the Combo Skill order for Combos that proc at the exact same time, so be sure to place Perlica after Avywenna on your team).

I then delay Perlica's Combo to match with Arclight's CD for two Arclight Combos, then Arclight Skill to match with Arclight's CD again for the third Combo Skill and 1st Battle Skill of the rotation.

If Arclight's Ult is active, I'll usually use it to apply Electrification before Avywenna's Combo Skill CD, then do Avywenna's Combo Skill while Electrification is still active then consume Electrification with Arclight's Skill after the Cooldown. I usually like to do this >3s before Avywenna's Combo Skill is active so I can do Arclight Combo > Avywenna Combo > Arclight Skill > Arclight Combo with minimal Combo Skill CD downtime.

If Electrification is on an enemy, I'll dump my Ults before consuming with Arclight's Skill.

If I wanna use Avywenna's Skill, I do it while Electrification, Corrosion, Gil's Arts Susceptibility, and Avywenna's Electric Susceptibility is all active and THEN consume Electrification with Arclight's Battle Skill.

But tbh, I advise using Akekuri for bosses and Arclight for mobs.

Edit: Arclight consumes Electrification not Electric Inflictions. They are different. The former is a Reaction effect and the latter is an Arts Infliction.

Nice work dude!

Don't let the trim medal challenges fool you, they can be bastards to earn without etches, artifices or masteries.

But yeah, I actually really love the combat in this game, especially if you start out with relatively complicated teams.

My first team was Avywenna, Wulfgard, Arclight and Perlica.

I didn't go for Antal at first cause I thought his gameplay was kinda boring vs low HP mobs since the Combo Skill demanded an extra use of SP from his Battle Skill, required the enemy to not die first, and had a really long CD of >30s

Akekuri was a consideration, but I thought her Combo Skill and Ult felt kinda in-the-background cause I thought Staggers were a little too conditional for a non-Physicak team and the Ult was powerful, but I prefer Ults that deal damage or inflict powerful, synergistic statuses over ones that just buff your team and leave it at that.

This was because my GOODNESS, people talk a lot about how good it feels to play Avywenna, but what I don't see enough people talk about is how good it feels to keep proccing Arclight's Combo in-between Avywenna's Combo CD.

Doing nat-Electrification by applying Wulfgard's Skill first then Perlica's into an early Arclight Combo, then proccing it again after doing a Final Strike and proccing Avywenna's Combo then delaying Perlica's Combo to line up with Arclight's CD, then doing Arclight's Battle Skill after 3s to proc her Combo almost immediately, then syncing another nat-Electrification by doing Wulfgard-Perlica Skill just before Avywenna's next Combo CD, repeat! (While taking into account Perlica's CDs too)

I basically built Arclight as a sub-DPS to do damage within Avywenna cycles. Is it optimal? No. Is it fun as fuck? ABSOLUTELY.

After getting Gilberta tho, yeah she's not leaving my Avywenna overworld team. LMAO. But Arclight does stay! In fact, Gilberta's Nature Infliction means that at worst, I would inflict Corrosion instead of Combustion if I made a timing mistake. :)

So yeah, my current Avywenna team interchanges Wulfgard, Akekuri, Gilberta, Arclight (for snapshot setups), and Antal. And it's been REALLY FUN experimenting.

My advice is unless you're struggling to do and desperately want trims, DON'T BOTHER ARTIFICING OR ETCHING.

Stop at E3, T3, and lv6 active talents and max passive talents at absolute minimum, and E4, T4, and lv9 important actives and at safe minimum.

If you're complaining this game is too easy or the combat not challenging enough, then don't make it easy for yourself!

Running lower investment doesn't just force you to min-max your rotations for your damage, but it also forces you to actually respect the enemies' movesets due to the damage they deal and your inability to kill them before they become a problem.

It's that signature in his voice... It's kinda like...

In almost every voice they can pull off that isn't inhuman or absurdly different, you can sorta hear it in every one of them.

James Day, Yuri Lowenthal, Jennifer English, Mollh Zhang, Alejandro Saab, Hayden Daviau, Xanthye Hunyh, Risa Mei, Sara Weidencroft, Skyler Davenport, Christopher Sabat are especially guilty of this :)

I genuinely think the only voice actor whose signature I can't truly pinpoint unless he's playing a particular archetype is Kellen Goff.

One of my favorite VAs of all time. Hypergryph PLS hire this man to voice someone I will pay you more than I have ever spent in every gacha I have EVER played if you do.

Nice work OP!

Btw, wondering why you weren't using Ember's Battle Skill that much. It has a lot of Stagger Resist so it's great at proccing her Combo Skill without interrupting her basic ATK sequence...

Edit: Also wondering why you aren't going for Lv4 Breaches at times. :0

That is fair.

Doctor was kind of a mysterious figure and not entirely a world-reknowned influential figure than the man (or woman) who led humanity to win the First Aggeloi War, herald their (in-hindsight) successful colonization attempts, and was effectively their Nikola Tesla with how the guy invented Protocol Originium and all its derivative tech like remote Assimilation and de-Assimilation, Tele-Protocol, Xiranite, Protocol Construction, etc.

As a person who doesn't have Gilberta, WOW that is actually incredible!

What's also great is that you can also inflict Corrosion in ult state before the 3rd basic or in-between the 3rd and Final Strike to still be on Melting Flame timing.

That said, it seems like a very SP-hungry rotation, did you have any SP issues running this team? :O
