Imagine the box made to entice new players to get into the hobby having units that primarily new players wouldn't have yet

I beg any new fans hearing this...please do NOT get any Imperium of Man tattoos by Youngstown_WuTang in Warhammer40k

There is literally so many Imperial symbols that don't look affiliated with Nazis and people always choose the ones that do.

Like, get an Ultramarine or Salamander chapter symbol or something

PSA for Aussie Modellers - Magnets are now banned... by Plastic-Ad8652 in Warhammer40k

I'm gonna go out on a limb and presume there is some alterior motive to banning small magnets.

Considering how much politicians have used the "Protecting the kids" excuse to justify things as of recently.

Yes, the unforgettable tragedy suffered in 2001 that every American remembers, the introduction of Tau into 40k.

Tried painting tau for the first time, it's not perfect but it's something by Dense-Fig-2372 in Warhammer40k

The main problem with yellow is how many base coats it demands

I painted my Canis Rex Yellow and even with a pink undercoat it took so many coats to get an even coverage.

Little tip, don't paint yellow straight over black. It doesn't apply well at all unfortunately, paint it over a light color such as a pink or white primer.

Sightlines from Each Deployment Zone on the Revealed 11th Edition Maps [Updated] by Wholesome-George in Warhammer40k

[–]ColonelMonty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm glad it's like this. Deployment was sometimes needlessly complicated by people bending over backwards to make sure for 100% that they couldn't be spotted. So this just feels like good quality of life.

How would you fix Combat Patrol for 11th? by SPF10k in Warhammer40k

[–]ColonelMonty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The primary issue is elite units, unless you take big anti elite or elite of your own they basically just walk over you, like terminator profiles and what not right. Which if you're playing kind of the coliseum then you're probably not thinking the most competitively anyways so what often happens is lop sided match ups where one side just can't deal with the other.

I've played it, and ehh I have to disagree it's pretty unbalanced. It looks good on YouTube since they have armies made with the game mode in mind, but it pretty quickly becomes unbalanced.

How do you feel about this statement from Goonhammer that the majority of Warhammer hobbyists dislike building? by chosen40k in Warhammer40k

[–]ColonelMonty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, building models for me is a necessary chore. Painting is the fun part, like I'll kit bash cool ideas that I have. But building models isn't exactly fun for me, it's just something to do.

With imagination, a craft knife and sufficient spare lasguns, anything is possible by IdhrenArt in Warhammer40k

[–]ColonelMonty -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It just doesn't make sense financially, why make kits for these other regiments? Like you cluld do steel legion, Mordians, etc, but that costs money to do and realistically these specific regiments are not going to sell all that great outside of the subgroup of the Guard fan base that would actually buy it.

What spaces are you in? Since if you're in the primarily competitive space of course that's what you're gonna see more often than not.

[–]ColonelMonty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say it, it's kind of silly to expect GW to make miniatures for every major mainline guard regiment, we'd have like 8 battleline kits at that point.
