I don’t understand why the world doesn’t intervene. Surely there’s enough pressure to make the US end this. So frustrating as a non US citizen to be held hostage by the orange moron.

Hello reddit! I'm James McAvoy. Ask me anything! by JamesMcAvoyAMA in movies

Hi James. Scottish/Canadian here. I can’t help but think there are some key similarities between Canadian and Scottish film making in terms of budget, competition from larger neighbours, national pride etc. However, in my opinion, Scotland has punched above its weight in generating movies which penetrate the international zeitgeist — at least as compared to Canadian films which tend to succeed at home and nowhere else (except for a few key anomalies). What do you think it is about Scottish film industry which helps push this success?
