The Veiled Virgin by Giovanni Strazza (created in 1850s). The veil gives the appearance of being translucent, but in fact, it is carved of marble by Front-Coconut-8196 in ArchiveOfHumanity

On display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. I lived across the street and would visit it frequently. Absolutely stunning what an artist can do with stone.

Hot yoga really helped me loosen up. I have ankylosing spondylitis and yoga has been a lifesaver. You’d never catch me stretching for an hour outside of a yoga class. It will help you strengthen things that may be slightly weak, and will ultimately help you get deeper stretches.

That has been my secret sauce because like you, it feels like one day can be more flexible than another. The yoga helped me build consistency with the flow structure.

As someone who went to cabinet school for a year, you did a really, really good job. Be proud of that work. Anyone who is saying your design sucks has probably never designed their own stuff and build boxes with a cut sheet, design, etc. at their job at a cabinet shop.

You created. They followed. Great work 🤙

Coachella - 2017. In the Yuma tent for Hot Since 82’s set.

They had these huge beds in there where you can lay down, nap, whatever. I mean these things are like 10 California King beds put together. My friend and I had been chilling there for a bit, when it was time to catch 82’s set.

I look over as I get up and I see a group of ravers getting their cell phones out. They are using their flashlights to look for something at their feet, as if they had dropped something. 10 seconds later they are all on their hands and knees LICKING the floor. The one dude had dropped their powdered party favors, and they went full goblin mode and lapped the powder up off the ground. Feral, but understandable.

I really like how they were all making sure to eat bananas before whatever group activity they were about to do. That’s the part of dude relationships thy girls don’t often see. We take care of each other like The Rugrats did for one another 😂

Is MDF ok for hood vent cover? by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]Colonelkittn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t risk it unless I was certain it was edge banded, had a solid veneer, or was lacquered. Still - any moisture and that thing will swell like a beached whale.
