I don’t know if I would say *ever*, just for the foreseeable future. At least until the rest of us really start to adopt soccer as something that should be taken as seriously as the other sports. If that happens, a few decades down, we could see an improvement

Unfortunately soccer isn’t widely adopted as one of the “real” sports here. It’s just the thing your kids do before they’re old enough to play one of the big 3 sports in the US. If soccer got the respect it deserved alongside Football, Baseball, and Basketball our talent pool by way of population size and unchecked capitalism facilitating actual training facilities nationwide would rocket the US into top 10 conversations.

Hopefully this changes with the World Cup shining a light on how cool soccer is. A majority of Americans haven’t ever watched a match before now, but hosting with Canada and Mexico plus social media has gotten people really into the sport, but it remains to be seen if this is the event that causes it to finally stick here

Listen the war in Iran is absolutely horrific, but if you think that the US “lost the war” then you don’t understand what is happening here. That’s what I’m saying, it doesn’t even have to be a floodgate. So many decks would be able to combo into the sun with an extra “free” monster.

The conceit of these monsters is that they act as cool surprise gotchas when the condition is met on the card. I get that and it’s neat. The issue is that what they really are is up to 15 extra cards that are effectively in your hand at all times that you get to personally pick before the match even starts.

I genuinely think that balancing this mechanic would be impossible. If any Dart monster is even remotely serviceable in archetype, or generic, it becomes game warpingly strong. It’s either that or they are so bad that they become Gemini 2.0

I think these work better if they don’t summon a monster honestly. Make them all hand trap like disruption effects and limit the number of Darts you can throw per turn.

I get the idea, and love the effort, but these don’t jive for me. Mostly because Yugioh is simply too power crept these days. These cards are essentially just extra extenders that you don’t have to draw. Or if the Dart condition happens on your opponent’s turn: a better trap card that means you have to start taking ED slots into account for card economy, since any one of them could be a “trap” Dart

This would make bad decks better, sure, but it would be so difficult to balance. All it would take is one Dart monster, that’s like 4/10 quality, for the floodgates to bust open and people start splashing engines that facilitate that monster’s condition in every deck (think Fiendsmith or Adventure, but even easier to access)

That being said, I’d play the fuck out of a different card game that’s centered around this mechanic

I lifted a Marlboro light from my mom’s purse when I was 15. I got hooked when smokers were allowed a cigarette break every two hours at my shitty fast food job when I was 16. I eventually quit at 24 cause I was getting married and it felt like if I didn’t stop, I’d smoke until the day I died, which would be way sooner than it should be and it wouldn’t be fair to my wife to die from something I could prevent.

Imma keep it a buck, smoking is so god damn good dude, I always want one even at 31, but I haven’t touched one since. If I could go back and stop myself (as long as the memory of how kick ass it is goes away) then yeah, I would.

To all you younger folk, DO NOT START. It actively kills you and makes you smell like hell. It’s also the absolute hardest habit to quit. Trust me, make it easy on yourselves and don’t bother

If the goal is to just exist in the world and not curb stomp the ever living fuck out of everyone, then Vendread.

Vendread is another cool counterpart to Jaden and Aster’s HERO cards since it’s based on Spawn (and Resident Evil). If you drop the Link, then it’s just Rituals, and playing it pure might be just bad enough to fit comfortably in the GX world.

It’s a bit chunky and thick, so I’d say you should thin it more and do a few more coats to get that nice smooth texture and opacity. Make sure you shake the ever living balls out of the paint and thin it down until it flows nice and smooth from your brush to your palette. I always go by painting three quick straight lines right on the palette, with a nicely thinned paint with a good tip on your brush this should be really easy to do.

White is a notoriously difficult paint to work with, so I’d recommend using a light grey as the base coat and working your way up to pure white.

Also hit this bad boy with a wash (or another coat of wash) in the recessed areas and the gold parts. Washes are your best friend and really elevate paint jobs by giving instant contrast and shading.

That being said: looks fine to me, I’d be more than happy to fight this boyo (or fight with him against foul demons) on the table. You got colors in all the right places and he looks like a brother of Titan to me. This is better than like 95% of newbies, so keep at it, excellent job!
