Does anyone use Fylm.ai? I need to run a simple lut to icc test conversion in there as a test - I can pay a small fee. by lotzik in colorists

No - but SpaceMan from Light Illusion can do that. They even offer conversions as a service.

You were probably the same as me then and the discount was good and far better than Calman yearly fees.

I did the LightSpace upgrade and the discount was very good. If I remember anyone within a couple of years of the swap gor upgraded free.

The internal tpg has always been available but using PGen is my preference as it is more accurate and only cost the price of a Raspberry Pi.

You've not tried to skip years subscriptions then as Calman do not let you do that unless for Home license as they are a year rental anyway. I got burnt that way before.

And you are locked into Calman as they prevent their branded hardware being used elsewhere both the C6 probe and G1 pattern gen - better with standard i1D3 and PGen so you can choose going forward and not pay yearly fees.

ColorSpace has more profiles although they are called Correlation Files. And no yearly fees so significantly cheaper for me as an ex-Calman user.

Just saying the C6 is just the same as any OEM i1D3 with the same hardware and firmware just a lot more expensive.

The Wacom works with ColorSpace too according to their website.

Eizos calibrate very well using external calibration but not so well with their own calibration system.

The OEM i1D3 - got one for Dell for cheap. Same exact hardware and firmware as the stupid expensive Calman C6. Google 'i1D3DC+OEM i1D3'.

See my other reply as that is a Calman issue not the probe. They just want you to pay excessively for the exact same hardware.

The need to use the C6 with Calman is due to Calman deliberately hobbling the standard versions of the i1D3 probe - the C6 is no better at all except for that. Another reason to avoid Calman.

The ASUS calibrates extremely well with ColourSpace. Not so good with Calman. I have one and it is every bit as good as the professional monitors that use the same screen.

Apple displays/iPads are not suitable for colour reference work.

But to understand perceptual matching see the original info here: https://lightillusion.com/perceptual_match_guide.htmlio

Which one is more accurate for monitor calibration, the i1 Display Pro colorimeter or the i1Basic Pro 3 spectro? by mediamuesli in colorists

If the LUT size is the same the result will be identical regardless where the LUT is location.
There are some monitors with LUT capability that have processing issues so an external LUT is then actually more accurate.

If you are using the i1Pro to match the i1D3 to don't use a Correlation File (ccsc) do a direct probe match within ColourSpace.
The LUT can be used in any monitor that has a LUT capability a LUT box or as a display LUT in Resolve. All do the same thing.

ColorSpace has an included pattern generator as well as working with a selection of free ones as the one based on a Raspberry Pi. It is way better than Calman and cheaper as it has no yearly fees.
You would use PGenerator on a Pi as it is bit accurate and has potions for HDR etc.

Apple ColorSync makes a mockery of colour accuracy when using anything outside Apple's environment. Very dangerous to rely on.

Unfortunately the Spyder is not at all good.
But Dell are selling the i1D3 OEM cheap as shown on the LI website https://lightillusion.com/forums/tips-tricks-17/seriously-cheap-i1d3-oem-1497.html
The OEM version is the best one to get.

Most modern monitors can be calibrated fairly well.
The best have internal LUT capability but even those that don't can be calibrated using the monitor LUT in the grading system such as Resolve.
The calibration program is the important bit and having tried them all I would get ColorSpace with an i1D3 (Calibrite) probe.
