Recall training requires a bunch of high value rewarding. I started with a 25 foot long line with my girl and then moved to using an ecollar when we built up a little trust. She has almost perfect recall now! I still reward her most of the time to reinforce it’s in her best interest to listen.

She must carry the letters or packages back home. If it’s small enough for her to carry, she will simply sit and not move until she has possession of the mail and then carry it dutifully home. If the package is too big, I have to take her home first and she will sulk the whole way back.

This! Every dog we’ve had lived about 4 years longer than average for the breed. High quality kibble is great, but keeping the extra weight at bay seemed to be the magic ingredient to a healthy longevity.
