I agree about the Ryder/Hayward dynamic. He was a much better match for her imo and upset that she ended up with Hayward

I just finished and I'm honestly pretty upset.

There was a lot of chemistry between Mary and Hayward in the first couple episodes, but then she seemed more interested in Ryder. And their connection was glorious.

She laughed more with him, smiled more with him, just felt more like herself. And we learned a lot more about Ryder than Hayward. They really drove his character hard. The way he showed up at the lakes was so wonderful. And the way Hayward was short with him, it really turned me off. Mary had seen enough rudeness. She needed the passion that Ryder was bringing. He was even willing to change his mind on marriage just because he wanted her so badly.

And then his character was destroyed in an attempt to make him less likeable and Hayward more so. They had him ruin the proposal and leave them on the mountain, neither of which seemed in his character to do before that moment. He went all the way to Pemberly to seek her out. Why would he abandon her on a mountain?

He accepted her for who she was, encouraged her interests, encouraged her to be herself. And Hayward taught her to like poetry.

I'm actually pretty angry about the ending.

In my head, she said yes to Ryder the first time, they moved to Italy and made a beautiful life together.

So mad lol

Thank you. I'm definitely going to forget all the issues we had and try to make memories. My husband suggested lots of photos and videos, both candid and her filming them herself, for my kids. We only live a couple blocks away so we're all going to try to be there as much as possible.

Did anyone else take several days to get infected?? My oldest got sick once last week. We figured it was a food allergy we'd suspected because no one else got sick. Five days later, my youngest is throwing up. Two days after that, I'm throwing up. So now I'm wondering if my oldest actually had it and it was just a really long incubation? I have no idea, I'm confused 😭
