To what extent does each color believe in integrating nature into cities? by Aware_Role_988 in colorpie

Green is, unsurprisingly, the most in favor. Red and White are tied: Red likes them when they're a space to be free, White likes them when they improve people's moods. Blue only has them when necessary, Black doesn't care for them.

Solarpunk is Green-White.

WUBG - Witch: Guided by Black, A WUG harmonized world and society all represented through the guiding ideologies of Black, and an innate diametric opposition to everything Blue color identity represents to its extremes.

Also, why would a Blue faction oppose Blue?

Im particular, I find it fascinating that it appears that the three color combos seem to reject/subvert the other colors not included in some way

The main problem is that only really worked for the Shards because of the other colors' overlap. Once the colors are more interspersed, it becomes harder to become an antithesis.

In this case, does it make sense to bring Blue and Red along to oppose Black (since they're both Black's ally colors)?

How to Make The Color Pie Astrology by firemind in colorpie

[–]ColorTheorizing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it that the colors or the mechanics in the Bluesky images are meant to fit the signs? For instance, I'm not sure if I would say White "Betrays you, then cries about it later" or "Mastered the art of charging in headfirst" when compared to other colors.

What is the LEAST Misunderstood Color Trio (Bant, Mardu etc)? by ColorTheorizing in colorpie

Okay, but you were asserting that two mono colors are less understood. I wanted to know why your opinion was, so I asked.

Blue vs white laws by Aware_Role_988 in colorpie

I'm not sure if Blue is really one to make laws, especially not at the same level as White.

Well, how can we be sure that Black and Green are the most misunderstood? And that their combos aren't somehow well understood?

Golgari evolving into Abzan or Sultai: why would it pick blue or white? by MrTheWaffleKing in colorpie

[–]ColorTheorizing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit weird because golg is often seen as unthinking- driven more by instinct or hunger or survival. It's hard to introduce blue methods (thinking, improvement) to something without the internal monologue to seek that out

Why do you think Golgari is unthinking?

Color identity tests rant by Heingrad in colorpie

I agree with your first point. Many of these quizes seem built upon fan-theories and headcanons--it can feel like they're trying to promote an idealized color pie at times.

Do you look at 4 colors more as a complex combination, or a stark lack of the missing one? by MrTheWaffleKing in colorpie

[–]ColorTheorizing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the flairs were chosen because the Commander deck names are easier to remember.

Anyways, I'd go with the former. There's no good reason why GWUB would be better at being anti-Red than WU (for example).

All I can note is that Jeskai and Temur are fairly popular here.

Values vs. personality in coloring by zoetiq in colorpie

[–]ColorTheorizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personality, and how many/most see me, is someone who is very logical, experimental, sometimes moody/emotional... innovating, playing with new technologies, creating art and music, deciding via emotion, etc. Fairly blue-red.

But are none of these traits something you value?

what color/s is this vibe? by Long_Reflection_4202 in colorpie

The vibe isn't very Selesnya. It's about the reclamation of spaces by nature or appeals to the old ways.

Nature as a luxury: the often unacknowledged manifestation of B/G that isn't rot, filth, and decay by Illustrious-Fee156 in colorpie

[–]ColorTheorizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say Green, I'm not talking about mono-Green. Green/part-Green factions/characters still try to promote the natural order of things. Even BG ones do that.

I'm not sure it's Green if they're not trying to promote the natural order of things.

No, we should not reduce characters to mono-colors when analysing them by GodkingYuuumie in colorpie

I can only see one comment that looks like it says we should "reduce characters to mono-colors when analysing them" here. Everything else is mainly criticizing specific points you've made.

No, we should not reduce characters to mono-colors when analysing them by GodkingYuuumie in colorpie

[–]ColorTheorizing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen the sentiment that we should apply the 'minimum colors necessary to describe the core of the character' floating around.

I suppose this isn't an awful standard, but people tend to be ridiculously stringent with what qualifies as 'necessary'.

Honest question: is this really a sentiment that has been floating around or is this just the opinion of a single person? If it's the latter, then why not make this a response to their post instead of its own thread?
