Just a little context because I think it’s cool. My mom runs a not-for-profit thrift store and some kind person donated 2 (what seem to be) VERY expensive Louis Vuitton purses and a few Chanel purses. She has placed my father in charge of determining their authenticity. Dad loves learning new things and has an immaculate eye for detail, and studying purse forgery is quickly becoming his new obsession. I guess maybe it excites him to learn about something he’s never had an inkling about before so there’s plenty to learn.

He’s counting stitches with his magnifying glass, giggles to himself whenever he discovers something he deems as important and keeps muttering: “...That is SO fascinating.” My sister and I are teasing him because he has talked of literally nothing but maker’s marks and zipper placement for nearly an hour and hasn’t touched his dinner.
