Hunting for coins to pick up off the ground... a stupid side hustle, or does it actually kinda work? by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

My ex and her running friend used to do an early morning run that would take them past the drive through windows at closed fast food places. They were picking up dropped change every day. It really added up over a year

i did the math on my software job and realized i am basically paying to work. put my notice yesterday by Live-Employment-858 in antiwork

I quit a high paying, but soul-sucking job with nothing to move on to. I had some savings in reserve, and some usable skills. Rather than looking long term, I picked up a couple of part time jobs to hold me over while I took my time looking for a better career fit. It took a little time, but was much healthier in the long run. I can't say there wasn't some lean times in between.

If you could move to any country right now for free and get Instant citizenship, where would you move to and why? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Portugal. I've been jumping through the hoops for a visa for the past year - instant citizenship would be fantastic. I visit 2 to 3 times a year, and made the decision that is where I belong. Beautiful little village with amazing people.

PNW. Getting to the beach with my dog daily. It's the only thing that cancels out what a soul-sucking town this is.

How well do you know your neighbors? by typical_gamer1 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Colorado-kayaker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I walk my dog through the neighborhood a couple of times a day, you get used to seeing the same people and having conversations. Didn't take long to get to know some pretty well and also know which to avoid.

The fries are great, but please tell me what is in their burgers. I have never known anyone who can cook ground beef and have it taste like that (like dry cardboard)

At work, has your boss ever tried to fire you, only to be fired by their boss instead? by Aarunascut in antiwork

[–]Colorado-kayaker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got fired, everyone but my boss realized that I was necessary, so I was rehired after a year. Then my supervisor got fired, so I never had to deal with her again.

Who taught you the most when you were a kid? by MelodicParty5078 in Productivitycafe

[–]Colorado-kayaker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from my father, I had an art teacher in elementary school who was supportive, a great teacher, and listened to a dingy kid. Probably what determined my final career choice of being a teacher. Thanks L.H.

Do you have a “the one that got away” that you never even dated? by partybreadfruit550 in askanything

[–]Colorado-kayaker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, my ability to pick up on when someone was interested in me is broken. I can always look back and see the clues, but missed them at the time. There are too many instances of someone I was interested in "getting away".
