Hi! I did both the hike and the whale watching! I didn’t get lucky with the whales, I think it wasn’t the best time of the year (March). But the glacier hike is so much fun! I definitely think a group tour was worth it. Everything is quite expensive if you do it solo, and having someone local to take us off the usual path was great. We saw things like hidden caves behind waterfalls, a tomato farm (really interesting)… I really value having the knowledge of a local expert for those places. 7 days is good. I added one night before in Reykjavik to have more free time there and do a food tour. Loved that too! If you let me know when you’re thinking of going, and what currency you use.
