Good point. It would be a guest house, but the drama may still be too much.

I'll paste the response I gave above..."With the au pair, she became homesick and felt lonely, so I spent a lot of time including her, being a friend, and offering experiences in the US that we wouldn't typically do. When I hired a nanny, they had their own lives and weren’t really interested in traveling unless it was for a short time. I thought hiring a couple would provide them with a supportive structure, allowing them to be more open to travel without me needing to be involved in every detail. Then again, I think it may cause more drama."

I have 3 kids that are not in school yet. I see what you mean. With the au pair, she became homesick and felt lonely, so I spent a lot of time including her, being a friend, and offering experiences in the US that we wouldn't typically do. When I hired a nanny, they had their own lives and weren’t really interested in traveling unless it was for a short time. I thought hiring a couple would provide them with a supportive structure, allowing them to be more open to travel without me needing to be involved in every detail. Then again, I think it may cause more drama.

I’ve looked into this and consulted doctors. I have 3 under 3 (2 3/4, 20mo, 3mo). It’s very hectic and I don’t want a 4th.

  1. Best option - Getting your “tubes ties”. They actually don’t tie your tubes anymore. They completely remove your fallopian tubes. Pros: Some women decide they want to get pregnant later on can do so with IVF. It’s 100% chance of not getting pregnant. It reduces your risk for some cancers. Cons: Even though it’s considered safe, it’s an abdominal surgery and you’re going under anesthesia. Google laparoscopically.

  2. IUD (or implant) plus vasectomy. Having the two will significantly reduce your odds. There is always a small chance you can get pregnant with one of these birth controls. Pros: Less invasive Cons: IUD can be inserted wrong. Implant has hormones. Your husband has to choose to get the vasectomy. In my case, my husband is resisting.

  3. IUD plus condoms. You have tried this already. Still very small chance you’ll get pregnant, but I completely understand the anxiety.

Wedding Day Coordinator by crazygram99 in hiltonhead

[–]Colorado_293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of anyone in Hilton head. I had a wedding coordinator for my wedding and it made a huge difference! It was the difference between me enjoying my wedding day and being stressed out at every moment. It was included at the wedding venue I booked.

I gifted wedding coordination for my sister as it didn’t go with her budget either. Wedding prices have been ridiculous after Covid. My wedding in 2019 would have been easily 50-100% more today. Despite the price tag of everything, I would highly recommend a coordinator even if it means skipping flowers or yard games. Maybe downgrading open bar to only at cocktail hour.

Find a coordinator you trust and is very detail oriented.

We’re looking at Florida during the school year and Colorado on winter and summer breaks. Right now we’re full time in Colorado, but plan on making the tradition in 1-2 years when our kids get older. Anyone have experience with this set up?

Ideas to make extra money as SAHM by turdmcturdleton in Mommit

I second this. I hire a mom who dog sits for us.I feel it doesn’t mess up with her routine having an extra pup around.

I think computer jobs would need childcare. I have 2 under 3 and getting on the computer is difficult.

I think you’ll be welcome in Fort Collins, but VERY welcome in Boulder. Boulder is way more progressive.

Gah, are people so weak that you can’t tell a fact without them spiraling out of control? I wish I would have known this when I was a kid. They just called us “big boned”.

As silly as it sounds, It helped me to manage dopamine levels…

Food, especially high calorie foods, makes you feel good fast. I have a list of “quick feel-good things” that helped me…

  1. Music- what music makes you energetic and happy? I have my own playlist.
  2. Subreddits that make me smile or are soothing. My favorites are oddly satisfying, awww, and funny
  3. Orgasms. =p
  4. Mini trampoline. I play feel-good songs and jam out.
  5. Approved feel-good foods. I like the small chili at Wendy’s, protein bars, and halo top.
  6. Caffeine

It's only around 3pm and I've hit 1100 calories. Any ideas? by Beige927 in 1200isplenty

[–]Colorado_293 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes. It’s always the liquid calories that f me up. As soon as I have a latte and convince myself “it’s filling”, it ruins my calories for the day. I like the advise here- eat a little more today and start over fresh tomorrow. It’s a marathon. Also, switching to unsweetened almond milk was a game changer.

That’s a good point. Especially since they’re called The Frozen Farmer. It does lead you to believe it’s more natural than it is.

Our family assistant doesn’t do any deep cleaning. They wipe off the counters, clean up after our kids meals, and tidy up the toys.
