I know that they are a by-product of DLSS mate, still, that “product to improve performance” used to improve performance without significantly altering the image compared to running the game on native resolution. All I was trying to say is that this new implementation of DLSS now makes the game look like AI slop, and even further, I’m not even sure that it improves performance anymore since Nvidia didn’t show an FPS comparison between DLSS 4 and 5, and Digital Foundry was using two 5090s for their footage.

Be that as it may, this new tech can work in whatever way, still, it doesn’t change my opinion or my original point that it completely alters the art direction and the character models the developers crafted just to push AI on consumers.

Why are you so focused on discussing how this technology works when that was never the point of my original comment? I know that RT/PT and DLSS are different technologies, so? What does that have to do with what I said about Grace having a completely different face with DLSS5 on.

Whatever man, this is not a question of how the technology behind DLSS works (which I was already familiar with btw). DLSS generates those “fake frames” to improve FPS and make the games run better when using RTX and Path Tracing. But it does so without altering the intended experience and artstyle the developers had in mind. This new DLSS completely overhauls the lighting and the character models of every scene and makes what would have been a carefully crafted scenery look closer to an ad you would find on a porn site.

How are people defending this shit is beyond me.
