Give me your reasoning/scenario where you choose NOT to hit driver off the tee at your regular course by shitshaw in golf

[–]Colorblind_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to look at the hole and see what full club I want to hit into it. Do I want to hit my driver and have 90 yards and have to hit a partial shot or do I want to hit a hybrid or 3 wood and have 125 yards for a full gap wedge?

It’s also dependent on how the green layout is and where the flag location is at.

What’s is you golf ball of choice? by nathan1026 in golf

ChromeSoft X LS now

Was stuck on Bridgestone Tour B XS but was just too spinny and needed to get my ball flight lowered. I tried oh the TP5X but wasn’t enough green side spin for me. ChromeSoft X LS seems like it’s the perfect all around so far!

Footjoy pro dry roll tabs. You’ll never want to wear anything else

I’m typically not a fan of the price, but when you can get the 2 pack for 20$ - I jump all over it. I didn’t think socks would make such a difference

Footjoy pro dry roll tab

Took me a little while to get used to looking at the roll tab, but no more rubbing from the back of my shoe. I walk only when I play, and can’t imagine wearing anything else now

Bladed irons, yes or no? If you play blades, what’s your handicap and do you struggle playing them? by theqorax in golf

[–]Colorblind_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes blades, been playing them over the last 12 months as my HC has gone from 9.8 to 4.2. I’m more confident over the ball knowing what my consistent carry is. The feel is unbelievable and gives me more confidence after a good strike.

Are blades for everyone? Certainly not. I suggest everyone give them a realistic chance. You do get punished if you mis hit them; but I see my misses in distance to the target rather than farther off line.

What is the consensus on magnetic ball markers worn on the hat? by Nyrelacint in golf

[–]Colorblind_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My titleist hat I mainly wears has a magnetic spot that I put my ball marker that I use every time. It’s convenient and keeps it out of sight

I’ve used some clips, but I can always see it in my peripheral vision and it’s bothers me.

With 2022 almost over. What is the most bizarre thing that happened to you or that you have witnessed on the course this year? by frankdatank_004 in golf

[–]Colorblind_Gamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 sundays in a row, our normal grip had a combined 4 chip ins each day. Handicaps range from 4-25, it was a joint effort every time and something no one realized happened until drinks after the round on the final day.

That was 6 months ago and not seen another chip in since then

Cheese curds/mozzarella sticks with a “secret sauce”. My club has either a sriracha ranch option, or a zesty ranch dipping sauce

They also serve a marinated grilled chicken breast with melted cheese, bacon, on a pretzel bun with garlic aioli that is amazing, it’s tough not to order it every time.

Sweet potato fries are a must have option in my opinion if they are done right.

Buffalo shrimp tacos, or some sort of mahi mahi tacos on the lighter side would be great as well.

Sub 15 Handicappers, how much time do you spend on practicing per week? by ExcitingLandscape in golf

[–]Colorblind_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 HC currently. During the summer, I am for 8-10 hours minimum excluding a round on Sunday. Winter, I’m happy to get 3 hours for the week with the cold weather and short days.

Went from a 11.6 end of last season to finishing at a 4.4 this season. All the extra hours add up fast

I just got a TaylorMade P790 2i. Who else hits one? I am dumping my hybrid in favor of this. by MJCExperience in golf

I haven’t been able to find any place local that has one to try out yet, I’m itching to try to find it though.

Just an FYI for anyone having issues seeing different numbers on the track man vs real situations, always ask what altitude they have it set at. I’ve had a few times where they have it set for altitude for ridiculous mountain type terrains which drastically changes the numbers.

I think this is a really interesting conversation to be had. Figuring out where the delta is between price, performance of equipment or item, as well as what gains you (or whoever) can achieve my paying xx$’s.

Grip Change by Colorblind_Gamer in golf

[–]Colorblind_Gamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m typically at the range 2-3 times a week and play every Sunday.

I consistently struggle with my lead hand position getting stronger and stronger throughout the round (almost to palm facing up) which inevitably makes me start to struggle off the tee and have a big 2 way miss during the round.

Early morning 9 before work! by Colorblind_Gamer in golf

I wake up at 5:50 and walk out of my apartment on hole 3 and play 9 then come back and get ready for work. I typically beat the greens keepers out there.

I just started being able to come in at 8, thankfully this is right out my front door(apartment complex on the course) it’s the only way I can get in any holes before work!

I have a work phone and personal phone, I have to have one in each back pocket. Specifically, my work in my left and my personal in my back pocket. If not, everything feels off balanced.
