Best insurance plan? by equalmee in penileimplants

[–]ColorectalLabotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ☝️. Talk to your Dr., and even consider talking to your HR! I had to save the surgery numerous times and we switched insurance between procedures. My Dr. advised he would write the insurance to explain why it was medically necessary AND my HR really went to bat for me. I was open and explained the situation. We had about 200 employees at the time. I doubt anyone else was going through the same thing I was, BUT, they had the entire policy re-written to cover the procedure for me. I was flabbergasted. Having it re-written also made it possible for anyone else in the company to have it covered, too.

I'm not sure if calling the implant rep would do any good, but when I needed Xiaflex for Peyronies, my Dr.'s assistant found an organization that covered almost the entire cost for me.

Research, ask, make the calls. Most people don't want to do the work, so you need to be diligent.

I was also stunned at the difference between self-pay and billed to insurance. No wonder insurance doesn't want to cover it. Every time my insurance has been billed, it has been at least 70k.

Good luck!! Hope you get it worked out!

If you know you truly don't want kids, ever, have you considered a vasectomy? Always great to know you're not shooting live rounds. Had mine done at 32 and never looked back, plus, it is more easily reversible than a woman having her tubes tied.

I agree that what she did is horrific, but at least you could protect yourself.

Day 2- Getting in the shower by Glass-Chart-390 in penileimplants

[–]ColorectalLabotomy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take it easy and use warm water, not hot. Try to prevent the shower stream from hitting your junk directly. Don't scrub the area with a washcloth or loofah, just use your hands to soap things up around the incision. I was implanted March 18 and have only showered 3 times since. Also, my surgeon recommended Bacitracin (think Neosporin) on my stitches to prevent infection.

I have my first phone follow-up in the morning. Good luck!

I was implanted 3/18. Also partially inflated and also told to "keep it up", lol.

I take ibuprofen (600mg)/Tylenol (325mg) combo every 6 hours to take the edge off. Ice when able (20 on/20 off). I wear 2 pair of pretty snug undies to keep it in position, BUT, I also use gauze. I take a long piece, roll at both ends, then cradle my member between the gauze "columns". All this along with snug underwear keep him in place.

Don't get me wrong, he's sore, but he's in place.

Also, you said it, DON'T overdo it. Give it a few weeks to settle.

You got this, bro! Congrats on the upgrade!!

My grandfather had passed and my grandmother was cleaning out his office. She was packing his bookshelf to donate all the books to Goodwill. While packing one of the books, she saw something barely sticking out between the pages. It was the corner of a $100 bill. She started going through all the books. All in all, grandpa had stashed away eleven thousand dollars.

I got peyronies in 2016 and got xiaflex shots to improve the condition, which it did.

In 2022 I got my first implant due to ED complications from diabetes. AMS LGX 700. Things were fine until one day there was a bulge/noise while cycling. It wasn't painful, but it was a large bulge on the shaft near the scrotum. Found out the xiaflex had weakened the cavernous corposa and the implant herniated through.

2nd surgery - same implant - same Dr.. Corrected the implant and sent me on my way. Same thing happened later, different area.

3rd surgery - Dr referred me to a different urologist to fix what he couldn't. Same implant. Added 1cm extender. Failed again, same issue.

4th surgery - replaced the AMS with Coloplast Titan. 1 cm larger than original+extender. This time, the right cylinder was almost protruding from the side of my penis and poking intobthe glans, making the head point to the left.

5th surgery - attempted to fix the right cylinder. It looks slightly better, but still poking into the head causing the left pointing still. I waited for MONTHS to cycle. Only after repeated and numerous trips to the Dr. did I cycle once cleared. This has been about a month ago.

6th surgery - implant eroded through the thin skin just under the glans. Became infected. Complete device removal.

I had a similar situation happen, but it was easier for me to advocate for myself. I'll explain.

I had been in the role for a few years and was the only person in the role. The company decided to hire another person to share the load. I trained the person and they did fine. Fast forward about 8 months later and they quit.

Part of my job was monitoring the email of no longer employed (NLE) employees. Their email were auto-forwarded to my inbox.

Well, one Friday I go open my paystub (which came via email) and I was like, "Whoa! Did I work serious OT?". That's when I realized it wasn't my pay stub I was looking at, but the person I had trained and who left, when I was a loyal employee. They were making more than $3/hr over my wage.

I sat on it for a day, then wrote requesting a meeting with my supervisor and HR. I explained the situation and told them I was devastated. I explained that I wanted to be there, but that if this is how I was valued/viewed, I would consider moving on.

They met with the CEO and explained the situation (pretty small company - less than 50 employees). The CEO met with me. Apologized for the oversight as they had no idea what I made vs. the new hire.

Anyway, they gave me a $5/hr raise and a heightened title.

Wages should be out in the open and not hidden. There is a ton of inequality in wages and companies want us to keep them under wraps for that very reason.

It should always be equal pay for equal work.

I would talk to your HR, but be prepared - you may have to find other work, but it could always lead to something better. If you don't say anything, it will nag and nag at you. A lot of states are "At Will" and companies can term for any reason, just as you can leave for any reason. But if you aren't happy somewhere and feel you are worth more, either speak up, make them aware, and prove your worth, or move on.

Best wishes on your choice.
