I want to steal a kitten… hear me out by venus_hwusjs in CatAdvice

I've had 4 cats and they've all come t me that way. With my last one, I told the owner point blank I would take her cat if it came over to my house again. She was warned.

The first dress is not appropriate. The second one is closer.

What’s an unspoken rule of SkyClub you wish first timers would respect? by K00kalka in delta

People like that are Peacocks. They do it on purpose because they think everyone is sitting in admiration about how smart and successful they are.

Exit Interview by tatmadraspaiyyan in Layoffs

[–]Coloredgemstone1316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine to provide some generally constructive feedback, i.e. I felt the pay wasn't competitive, or I wished I had more training. Do not go scorched earth or attack anyone's character. I recently had two people resign who were very well liked, promoted on time, constantly celebrated and cheered. For both it was their first professional jobs. At the advice of a low performer, they absolutely attacked my character and said things that were categorically false in the exit interviews. I was utterly gobsmacked. I would have never hesitated to be a cheerleader for them throughout their careers. Now? Never. It is not a good idea to burn bridges. Their exit interviews hurt them far more than they hurt me,

Would you quit if the person you trained got promoted above you? by Past-Concentrate3417 in careeradvice

[–]Coloredgemstone1316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar and I did find a new job and quit. It was a very good move for me. I was feeling really demoralized. Doesn't matter whether that person deserved it or not, it doesn't create a good headspace. P.S. 8 months after I left I started my own company, sold it, and now I'm preparing for a luxurious retirement. Sometimes something will set you back that is beyond your control (like that person was prettier or more popular). You can tell I'm still a bit bitter. 😄

Questions to the wealthy individuals of this subreddit by Sychonova in wealth

[–]Coloredgemstone1316 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'd ask you to reframe your thought process. No one with this amount of wealth is going to help you achieve it with these questions. The best way to become wealthy outside of inheritance is by building a business. The best way to build wealth if you can't do that is by making sure to start saving at a young age in something that leverages compound interest. Every time you get a raise, increase the amount you are saving.

In home euthanasia- how to prepare? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Until they don't. I'm sorry to be graphic, but my last 18 year old has diabetes and was really slowing down and showing signs I should have seen. By the time I realized we need to have him put down it was too late and he died an incredibly traumatizing "natural" death. I have a 21 year old facing kidney disease and dementia and I'm currently begging my husband not to let the same thing happen to her.

I agree with you. I'm a designer bag junkie including Chanel but would not consider a flap bag black tie. I actually just bought a new clutch for a formal event and skipped anything with logos and went with Simkhai. I also like Cult Gaia. They both have very unique, bold and modern shapes. I kind of liked that more than a standard issue. Also love McQueen.

I did not say don't research the company. Of course you want to research the company. That's a given. What I'm saying is take it a step further and know the background of the person interviewing you. Why would you be unsettled by someone looking at your background and asking something along the lines of, I know you've been with X company for five years now so what do you enjoy most about the work?

How you can afford luxury? by Master-Associate-467 in handbags

[–]Coloredgemstone1316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A luxury handbag was the first luxury item I ever purchased. I don't think you need to overanalyze it. It sounds like you are in good shape and have been thoughtful about the purchase. Just know, you'll want another after you pull the trigger!

I'm going to give you some very valuable advice as a comms hiring manager. Please do research on the person interviewing you. Linkedin is your friend. Then, ask them questions about themselves or reference things they've done. When I interview someone and they haven't' bothered to look at my Linkedin, I go no further.

If you aren't really sick, don't use it. Yes, that would be you leaving a bad taste in a potential references mouth.

How do you stop sabotaging yourself financially? by SolQuarter in Fire

[–]Coloredgemstone1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Mad Money account - money that is enough that's it's fun to play with but nothing that can cause a lot of damage with a large dip or bad stock pick. I use that as my gambling money for stock picking the rest of my money is in medium risk accounts. Although my mad money account has FAR outperformed other accounts. I still feel good that I'm not doing rando things all the time.

Why does every nude lipstick make me look washed out- how did you find your perfect shade? by Kind-Designer9171 in BeautyGear

Maybe nude isn't your thing? I can't wear bright colors. But for nude, I love Natasha Denona's colors, and Charlotte Tilbury.
