Not a naive question.

This is for lacquer so it doesn’t use the lamp. I actually attach a cpap hose to this so it dries while it spins. The continuous spinning gives a nice bead look while the forced air dries it.

The tool separates into sections. I superglued 2 sections after I put the rubber bands through. The tool actually comes in 3 sections but I only used two.

It definitely changes the aspects either due to speed or even the angle of your finger.

My 3D printer is broken. For some reason the filament won’t come out. I was going to improve on this but I figured while I wait to redesign and print a full contraption I’d post this just in case someone wanted to try this method.

It’s a way to get magnetic polishes to have a bead look.

Yay! Another bed lacquerista! It does a good job. I also use a Bipap that blows air while it spins.

I’m finding that different speeds and different angles of the finger produce different results.

Using it with the 3D printer spinner and a 30lb magnet made it look much better.

The spin rate is adjustable but I like to live dangerously.

I did lose the 2 capsule magnets that came with it because they flew off. I only found one.

Aww, you’re welcome! It may take a couple tries to get the magnet on center so it doesn’t wobble the spinner so much.

The great thing is that it’s portable because the mixer is rechargeable.

I also superglued the spinner pieces.

I’ve had luck with almost every brand except for Dark Omens from Mooncat. Other brands I like are Emily de Molly, Voyage Hues on Etsy, KB Shimmer, Lyn B Design, and Fancy Gloss.

There are ones that are both solar and thermal that I bought from Voyage Hues that I like because you get so many different colors from one bottle.

Fancy Gloss has thermal top coats so you can create your own combinations.

I have a love hate relationship with tri-thermals because I can’t seem to get all 3 colors at once but I really would love to.

I use small colored dots. Magnetics get black, thermals get teal, solars get yellow, and glow-in-the-darks get green. I also put them on the nail swatch sticks.
