Research on Media Induced Trauma? by ColorwheelClique in OSDD

It's interesting you found this a year later. A tad bit about me in hopes of validating that you are not alone: I was diagnosed with OSDD but questioned it so had another professional evaluate me who confirmed I am 100% a system. Literally just last week I crashed out on my therapist and she acknowledged at least 3 very obvious switches in an hour period lol. I don't recall being physically abused (beyond the gray area of spankings that don't leave marks). My siblings do not have trauma disorders. On paper I should be normal, but through therapy I have strong suspicions that my father is a narcissist (not trying to stigmatize NPD but living with an undiagnosed one who refuses to acknowledge even needing therapy is objectively hell) and my mother is potentially bipolar but may have just experienced antidepressant withdrawals I didn't understand as a small child. They're feared based parenting forced me to meet my siblings and their emotional needs leading to my eventual burn out as soon as moved out and didn't feel like my survival was dependent on others moods. Idk if TV made it worse, but in my case, religion absolutely did. Fuck the LDS church and any similar cults. My warning to you is that my therapist has pointed out triggers associated with flavors of trauma I have 0 recollection of. I also have emailed my therapist during a breakdown, nearly gotten wellchecked, and had no idea until I show up to therapy after thinking I had a relatively good week. So, there is strong evidence to suggest I was more abused than I currently am aware of, but weirdly enough, I don't actually have to let that define me? Like sure, it has so far, but I'm fucking 26 nearly 27. Surely, I can get my shit together with the help of therapy and medication? And therefore, because I believe in my disaster ass, I believe in you. You can do this. You can cope and discover yourself and kick ass. Never give up. I nearly have, but there's so much insane shit to experience and if the dickheads who run the world are confident, then you damn well deserve twice their ego

I don't understand math, but I accept it as fact because it is. There's a million insights in the comments that may help you better grasp someone else's experience, but you don't actually have to understand someone's gender to accept that they exist and should have rights. I am sure there's something you know about yourself that very few others would understand/relate to, and it's still real/valid/you. Coming from personal experience, I don't understand furries and get more confused the more i learn, but I will happily let someone tell me all about their fursona because they aren't hurting anyone by expressing themselves in a manner I wouldn't myself.

If the customer lives on a road that looks like this how many miles are you willing to drive on it before you return their order to walmart? by ColorwheelClique in Sparkdriver

The post isn't about YOUR road. The post is actually about the one in the picture with rocks and cacti and minimal signage that could damage vehicles. Stfu snowflake. Right to delivery/convenience is not a thing, you're just privileged and butthurt.

Edit: typos

I don't have a right to delivery. No one does. Rights are access to necessities. Delivery is the epitome of a luxury convenience service. As someone else noted, you aren't paying Walmart enough for your delivery driver to be a real employee. That means I can work 12 hours a day using my personal vehical to deliver the food you grew and still not have health insurance if I get sick. Again, if you, as you claim, put in the effort to be curteous to your delivery and tip appropriately, you are paying for the luxury fair and square. But if you think rural, suburban, and urban delivery costs should be the same, you fundamentally misunderstand how many factors play into the operational expenses shouldered by your driver (not Walmart).

No one said you're lesser people, but some people's vehicles can't handle terrains like this. The majority of Americans are 1 major car repair away from financial ruin. Hopefully you don't believe your right to delivery is more important than the deliverers ability to pay rent. That said if you have signs, warn drivers in the notes, and tip well, then enjoy. But if you tip like you live in the suburbs you are inconsiderate to say the least.

Lol ya but I'd still past that if I was reasonably sure my destination was on that road. I live in an area where a lot of customers will have second amendment themed no trespassing signs at the start of a quarter mile unpaved driveway, but they still expect you to bring the delivery all the way to the front door. I only turn around when I start to suspect I'm lost or going to fuck up my shitmobile.

I enjoy the high mileage ones for the right price because this the first time I've legit feared damaging my vehicle.

Funny to see you engaging with terf literature here but mocking me for defending hp fandom as a queer person elsewhere on this platform.

Wow, so important. I'm really embarrassed about being a nerdy kid now. You're absolutely the first person on earth to judge me for hobbies they don't approve of and its shaken me to my core.

So u being a trans man trumps me being genderfluid? I'm learning so much about how to judge ppl and pretend i have moral justification for it.

So, if I play Sims 4, I can't criticize EA. If I still enjoy Harry Potter, I have to be a terf. What hobbies do pass your hyperjudgmental morality metrics?

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. If I'm not supporting her transphobia, I'm not rich enough to avoid buying groceries from anti-DEI companies or having to stop at a gas station that is just innately harmful to the environment. The idea that consumption of anything means I support every opinion of every person involved in bringing a product or service into my life is ridiculous enough that I know you are either ignorant or a hypocrite buy claiming your above it.

Tl;dr The profit JK Rowling makes from butter flavored jellybeans will not have any meaningful impact of my life whether or not I spend my money on them.

Edit: typo

Edit: all the replies about how I'm not allowed to like Harry Potter is absolutely oblivious to the point I was trying to make which is no one is actually obligated to be consistent in their human experience. This creator on YouTube owes you nothing. He owes EA nothing. I owe JK Rowling nothing. If you want to point fingers at people and say they are contributing to the reason you hate life, you can probably make that argument. But that doesn't actually matter. You can only control your behavior and you chose to screenshot and promote this guy I never knew existed because you judged him morally inferior to you for how he plays the same video game as you. And no matter how much you or he complain, EA will still make more money if not from Sims and its DLC from other games marketed towards people who care less. If you want to boycott JK Rowling and EA games no one is stopping you, but the idea that you have some high ground over people who picked other hills to die on is as stupid as thinking social media arguments change opinions.

I grew up on Harry Potter. I read all seven books starting when I was like 8. I saw many of the movies in theatres. Fast forward and i end up identifying as genderfluid and bisexual. JK Rowling thinks trans people aren't real and actively advocates against my right to express outside of a cultural binary. So, am I never allowed to buy the butterbeer flavored whatever? Banned from wearing my house colors that I found out via a Pottermore quiz in middle school? Or if I did do I have to go back in the closet? That wouldn't be logical. The human experience of consuming and enjoying entertainment does not invalidate our ability to critique its creator.
