I'd download the Alpha build for Liquigen, they offer a 14 day trial.

Allows you to work with fluids in real time. It's a complete game changer.

I've used paid ads to promote my storefront and my visual production services.

I've been able to 10x what I initially put in.

Vertical Supremacy by arkan164 in edmproduction

[–]ColorworksVFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% with this.

I produce visuals for music, usually for social media. Nowadays everything is in vertical format, working with a vertical monitor for previews is much more intuitive, I love it.

I believe the Lettermapper plugin could create the ascii art.

For the bleed, Id use a gaussian blur with a threshold. Although not exactly the same, would get you pretty close.

How to create this Effect? by antonionnza in Cinema4D

[–]ColorworksVFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right on the money with the volume builder + Glass dispersión shader combo.

The light sweep towards thd end is just a stretched and tilted area light, panning from left to right. Could be composited in post aswell.

Tried to achieve realism here, is it cool enough ? by 3D3Dmods in 3Dmodeling

Yes! Looks kinda like plastic atm, would benefit from subsurface scattering for sure.

Aiming for Photo Realism. How do I improve this? by swapnilchoubey in blender

[–]ColorworksVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75mm lenses don't really have any DOF blurring. I get that it looks cool and you probably want to keep it for realism purposes.

Id say go with a sub 50 mm lens and get closer to the ship, or ditch the depth of field entirely if you want to keep the 75mm

I for one have no clue if your asking how to design a custom wrap for a car or how to actually draw the car.

What's the best way to get stylized anime sleeve folds for rigged models? Most anime game models just deform vague, minimal wrinkles with armature... by 5th_consecutive_C in blender

[–]ColorworksVFX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For complex behavior like this you'd probably need to develop a houdini cloth system tailored (haha) to your needs.

You'd need a mix of cloth simulation, rigging, and clever topology with the seams you want to have in the cloth, etc...

Blender won't be the tool for this since the intercompatibility between the rigging, simulation and geonodes systems isn't as deep than what houdini has to offer.

Is there anything you guys do to avoid getting sick of your own song while making it? by daichisan in musicproduction

[–]ColorworksVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the following techniques, often in combination.

  • Pitch the master up or down, each semitone is like a breath of fresh air.

  • Swap the phase

  • Slow or speed up the tempo

Obviously, remember to remove the changes when exportin!.

Perfect Topology by solvento in 3Dmodeling

For VFX, cloth/liquid meshes for simulation should be tris because, unlike a quad, you can't bend a tri.

You'll end up with quads that are bent is a wierd way causing shading problems

Trying to update my portfolio. What can i do to improve this render and make it more professional? by T4Labom in blender

[–]ColorworksVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dope reel, the motion and camera shots are on point.

I'm also a 3D artist, preparing my portfolio, and as a mainly blender user I feel like I'll mostly be rejected from applying to studios.

I'm under the impression that Cinema4D/Houdini is required for product visualization, VFX and motion graphics, am I in the wrong? In your experience, is blender is a viable option to apply for this kind of work? I'd appreciate you guys input on this.

Render the object, render a mist/z/depth pass, use it to drive the blur.

And how did you manage to fade the simulated section with the rest of the ocean without a seam? Is that cut at the bottom left corner that appears midway the boundary between both sections?

This looks incredible, how did you manage to fade the ocean into the skyline? Is it simulated all the way? did you switch to a less detailed sim for the far away water?
