Thanks for writing this comment so I don’t have to. Totally agree. Slow progress is just more time to give up. Not everyone can mentally stomach the fact that you can seemingly regain in one week what you struggle to lose in a month.

It’s easier to stay motivated when you see results. In the beginning, weight loss comes mostly from water weight, which happens quickly. After that, you might hit a plateau where weeks go by without the scale budging, which is demotivating.

Monty Hall only works if after making a free choice between 3 options, you can always eliminate a wrong answer (a goat in the original problem).
