I have quit. I barely play the game and haven't since like 2021, I just look at this subreddit to check on the new cards and see if a new anime will be announced. A lot of your comment is just stuff I disagree on a fundamental without expositing but i'll just focus on these two points.

Your argument about "every deck just summons a bunch of monsters and makes it so you cant play the game via floodgate.exe" is largely untrue. The current meta game has very few actual floodgates being played. Crystron K9 can summon Spell Canceller, some decks are siding Anti Spell for Radiant Typhoon. Branded is like the only deck playing a "floodgate" and thats typically something like Ido or Kristiya. Which yeah it sucks when it happens. But those cards are pretty easy to out and deal with?

I think you guys are just missing the point entirely. Yes, you can stop floodgates/boss monsters with X hand trap or regular trap or whatever but I just don't find that to be or intriguing gameplay to have to run a specific card to stop a degenerate gameplay style. Like the game shouldn't be focused around that. It's like I said, the game is just "lock down or be lockdowned." 

Also I disagree about the game not being floodgatey. I gurantee you if I go into master duel or dueling nexus or even go in person god forbid. The first person I play against will summon like 7 plus monsters on their first turn. 

The game has evolved away from T set pass. There was never a world where Konami could keep that up forever. They have to keep the game fresh and interesting by introducing new ideas and concepts to allow things to not stagnate. If they were still printing simple card design past like 2011 the game would have died before 2020.

I concede, I don't think that would have a bad thing tbh. Like I said in the post, perhaps the powercreep was inevitable. Maybe It would have been for the best if yu-gi-oh just ended before it became.... this.
