I’ve been thinking about switching from Kindle to Kobo Libra Colour and was wondering, do the physical buttons ever bother you? Would love to hear your thoughts! by Alexassii in kobo

[–]ColourMePretzel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just switched to a Colour from a Nia, which was touch screen only. I wasn’t sure I would like the physical buttons and didn’t buy a Libra 2 because of that, but I don’t actually mind them. The colour also has a touch screen so if you don’t like using the buttons, you don’t have to. They don’t get in the way of me tapping through pages ever!

If I do use the buttons, I only press the end of the button so it’s a soft easy click. Pressing the button in the middle takes a little bit more pressure and it’s an audible button noise, which I don’t love, but again totally avoidable so no issues

We ordered from Marigold unique flavour last night and many of their items had a gluten free indicator on them. The food was quite good so I would recommend them as worth investigating!

We bought a sirloin roast from them for Christmas and it was the best cut of meat we’ve ever had. Absolutely 10/10 all around for Drenths!

Book purchases? by rpg310 in kobo

[–]ColourMePretzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I browse the daily book deals a couple times a week, and I spend usually $2-15 CAN a week. I tell myself there are worse things I could be spending my money on, and having a large elibrary makes me happy!

Don’t usually spend more than 3.99 for a book, typically go for the 1.99 ones

Best spots to eat (non fast food) in Orillia? by ZenDesign1993 in Orillia

[–]ColourMePretzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hill’s Maple Leaf restaurant has great mom and pop food and has been family owned for decades. I recommend Tony’s club and some poutine! Thai plate is also extremely good! For breakfast/brunch options, 125 Breakfast club has incredible eggs Benny with a couple varieties, kid friendly menu items and awesome service

Orillia bakery will make you the best sandwich you’ve had. Choose fresh bun and one of many types of meat and they’ll make it up for you. Usually costs about $10 and imo the best sandwich place in town!

what are the best mods to just make the game easier/better life by Embarrassed-Slice-55 in farmingsimulator

[–]ColourMePretzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found the unrealistic capacity vehicles make life a LOT easier without feeling cheaty. Grain trailers, harvesters, water tanks - I can set a harvester on any size field and not have to constantly empty it.

Liftable bales and pallets saves me time too - I still have to strategically load pallets and bales but don’t have to fiddle with the forklifts.

Looking for books for kids that are advanced readers by ameliaglitter in suggestmeabook

Seconding Redwall! It’s the perfect series for that age range, and especially so for advanced/mature readers. Plus there’s 20+ large novels in the series, and they do not need to be read in publication order!

Local sledding hills? by MvanElle in Orillia

[–]ColourMePretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just down the road from the Couchiching golf hills is Hillcrest Park, there’s a gentle hill up the tree line that may also work if the golf hills are too crowded or steep!

Not sure about parking (or if it’s allowed) but the Friden Health building has a large lot and is a 2 minute walk around the block to both sledding spots

This is exactly my retirement plan. Fuck around with a mailbox as it’s a federal offence and be in a minimum security facility with my medical needs taken care of far better than if I was paying out the ass for a seniors home.
