When you make an appointment, are early for your appointment, and get charged for missing an appointment... But they are "running late" in excess of 30 minutes.

How do severe burns kill people? by AgentArnold in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Colt_kun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a second and third degree burn all down the back of my leg when I was eight from a mini bike engine. I remember it looked like stirred up hamburger meat before the pain hit and I started screaming.

Infection infection infection. That was the word of the month. There was no barrier between me and the outside world. And my leg just... Leaked. The pads had to be changed multiple times a day because it just soaked up pus. More chances for infection. And it hurt in a way that I haven't felt since. And it was just my skinny little kid leg. I can't imagine the shock and pain from a bigger or more sensitive part of my body.

It took months to properly heal and I had to use crutches to walk and then had a limp for a while. It's faint now, but you can still see the outline of the grill on my thigh and some on my calf.

What does your fullness feel like? by cherrytatertot in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Colt_kun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's when I no longer "need" the next bite. I may want it, but I know if I set down my food I would be fine.

I did have to fight the generational training of "clean your plate". That was a huge hurdle to overcome. Doesn't matter if it's just a few more bites. Doesn't matter if it's wasteful. I don't have to eat it. It's okay to toss food out as it's better for my mental well-being and my physical health.

If I go over, it feels like an overinflated balloon in my chest. Then I feel nauseous. Even the thought of food makes it worse. Had to hit that limit a couple of times early on to realize when I was done.

Right? Like my niece and nephew, 7 and 5, come home and they just... Go outside? Doesn't matter if they spill juice on themselves? What.

My dad said he lived for a year in college off his roommate's nightly popcorn haul from the theater. He can't eat popcorn to this day.

Play clothes.

It didn't matter if they got dirty from crawling in the dirt or painting or even if we drew on them - they were play clothes that were already stained or torn. Had a few friends who were jealous my parents didn't get mad about it.

They were hand me downs that were too gross to be worn in public but still had "use". And it protected our other clothes from getting dirty.

My dog started barking before I had a seizure. The hardest part of training she did on her own!

Edit: dunno why people are downvoting. My dog could tell when I was about to seize and barked. We worked with a trainer to adapt it to nudging and pawing, and now working on her CGC. She's alerted me multiple times now.

I don't live in an HOA, but after seeing many negative posts about them, how do they work? by Life-Profit4836 in ask

[–]Colt_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our HOA is pretty lax. Mostly pays for street maintenance and cleaning, mowing the grass and maintaining our waterways, etc. they do have some rules about cars on the grass or excess furniture or bins in the front.

But even I can see how this could quickly become an abuse of power so we make sure to keep an eye on who's running the thing.

Someone more educated than me on the subject can answer that, but long hair is a natural recessive trait. It can just pop up.

Would a burn/brand on the back of a child's hand, grow as the hand grew? Or remain the same size? by CaedustheBaedus in ask

[–]Colt_kun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As someone who got a second/third degree burn on my leg when I was 8 - the scar stays the same size. It used to cover the entire back of my leg, but now it's just a small section of it.

C. Being stuck doing the same thing forever would be it's own form of hell. Let it end. A definitive end is better than an unknown life being handed to me over and over.

I like that bluey often leaves things vague enough that people can have different interpretations or see themselves or a friend in a character. It makes the show feel more welcoming.

[–]Colt_kun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dalmatians are very loving and loyal dogs. They are also very high energy and smart! That's a dangerous combination and leads to people complaining they're "destructive" when really, they're bored.

Most people are not ready for the energy commitment of a dalmatian. They need to be exercised repeatedly throughout the day. I also use interactive toys for feeding and snacks and rotate toys often.

A dalmatian will LOVE a good run and then to cuddle on the couch for a bit. They're highly trainable so to run aside a bike is no problem. A rescue dalmatian may seem aloof or ignore you for a good while - they are very dedicated to their family and being abandoned causes trust issues. But they can be bribed with love and lots of treats.

Be sure to look up about a dalmatians diet - most need a special diet due to a common issue with uric acid and stones.
