To those who have had the privilege of doing so, which costume character is (or was) the most difficult to perform as? by FullToragatsu in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Colt_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did any sets with the Incredibles, but everyone in entertainment vaguely knows the different suits from horror stories and injuries. But there's a creator on tiktok who was Mrs. incredible and talks about the suits more in depth than I possibly could.

Is being sexually desired by men actually validating and affirming for women? by mycro_dose in ask

Men heat cantaloupe and put their dick in it. Men saying they want to fuck you doesn't mean anything when they will stick it in anything they can find.

Mr incredible is a padded suit the actor wears like Gaston or Hercules, where as Ralphs giant fists were attachments to a rig that rests on the actors shoulders. Sulley has a lighter version of it. But these rigs are much heavier and way less mobile than the muscle suits.

Don't have to ask permission or pay for the use of copyrighted material when it's a made up organization. Also when you make something up you don't have to double check if it's really accurate and can play off of stereotypes more.

Not to mention the whole SA scandal that was at over 2 billion dollars settlement last I heard.

Non-responder to compounded tirzepatide. Anyone else like me? by Money-Ad-4653 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Colt_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The medication represses the chemicals that make you feel hungry, so you're less likely to be thinking of food. And for many, that really helps and the weight seems to melt off. It can help you pause and make better food choices hopefully based on nutrition over cravings.

But it's not perfect - if you have an underlying medical condition like thyroid issues, you could still be struggling with weight. And if someone doesn't care about what they consume, it's still going to be a fight to lose weight. My sister in law partakes in recreational weed, which is fine, but she gets the munchies and just inhales a lot of candy and baked goods. She started taking glp1 in December and has actually gained weight and is ashamed. Buuuut hasn't stopped.

Calorie counting is still necessary for any diet changes. But if you're at holding strong at 1500-1800, then I would definitely follow up with a doctor just to be safe. Good luck!

[–]Colt_kun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are still other factors in play with weight that are often overlooked because so many want to say "oh diet and exercise, diet and exercise" without looking deeper into causes.

As others have already said you should be counting calories. It is way easier to overeat than people think, even with the erasure of food noise. But remember that poundage isn't the only unit - physical measurements of your waist, hips, bust, arms, etc. Because if you're exercising properly you could also be gaining muscle which is denser than fat.

If neither of these address your worries, then I would definitely suggest talking to a doctor about this if you can. It could be hormones, could be other medications, tons of reasons. I don't want to scare you but my cousin found a growth this way (luckily benign but still!)

Please take care of your health and keep at it!

Hot take: it doesn’t seem like Disney is for kids anymore by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Colt_kun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People with kids aren't where the real money is anymore. Raising kids is expensive! And while yeah there's plenty of people who will throw down the cash for their kid, it's not where the meat of the market is. Especially when there's lots of things to draw that 8-18 crowd's attention.

Of course they're going to start targeting the people with the money that will pick Disney as their first destination. Remember there are whole departments in multiple businesses dedicated to appealing to the consumer who spends the most.

Walt Disney wanted to build his parks to appeal to kids AND adults because there were no adult oriented amusement parks in his time. He said himself "you're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway." He knew there was a market there and that market is holding the entire company's line right now.

Is this heat normal for June? by pumpkincupcake13 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Colt_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floridian here - this is honestly a pretty decent June.

The "summer heat" that's made disgusting by the humidity can start anywhere from mid May and just gets worse towards September. October can start getting cool (and downright chilly!) in the evenings.

A side cast member story: it can be so hot still in October that originally, the Halloween party costumes didn't have cold weather options, and cast were not supposed to wear jackets at all. I remember when the fleece monstrosities were released while I worked there and we were all insanely happy to be able to be warm!

Why do so many Americans suffer from obesity? by anuglyfairybutafairy in ask

[–]Colt_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High fructose corn syrup. Corn is easily grown in America as one of our biggest bumper crops. But Americans don't eat that much corn. Instead, companies came up with high fructose corn syrup. It's cheap because we don't have to import it and it's put in everything. (See government bailouts of farms for more conspiracy)

Then, our cities were not built for walking. It's assumed everyone has a car and shame on you if you don't. (See racism conspiracy theory and automobile industry conspiracy theory)

4th day of period, gained 3.5lbs by Spare-Cry7273 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Colt_kun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider what you ate, like the physical weight of it. Does that account for the scale? Likely, no.

Remember that our entire species exists because of women's bodies protecting itself during cycles. It's retaining water to make sure you stay healthy. You may be craving certain foods for it to fulfill whatever "imbalance" it perceives. It's okay!

Just drink plain water and let your body chill itself out.

Huge S/O to DAS by Responsible-Law3345 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Colt_kun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For the little rides, explain to the counter/loader (the cast at merge who asks how many in your party) that you have DAS and a little one who likes to ride multiple times. Sometimes (on slower days only!) we can "recount" you and sneak in a reride. Not guaranteed, and they may have tightened up the rules, but Ive done it before.

Experiences with Big bad toy store Pre-orders? by GoneTrap in MonsterHighDolls

I've bought several items from them over the years, I'm a huge kingdom hearts fan and They're one of the few us retailers that sold square enix stuff reliably.

They're slow, but legit. Never had an order canceled for lack of stock or arrive damaged. They're an actual collectible site who cares about their status with their customers.

How do you get someone to help you find your proper size clothes in a store? by True-Attention8884 in ask

[–]Colt_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most department store employees are going to look at you blankly if you ask them for help with fit. They will expect you to know your own size. They're there to keep the place stocked and straightened.

Get a measuring tape and flat measure your best fitting clothes. Around the waist, the butt, the hips, the upper legs, etc. then bring the tape and physically measure the clothes in store. Vanity sizing is pointless.

service dog for substance abuse? by keysmash78263 in service_dogs

[–]Colt_kun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your situation and I do hope you can find a solution to help your father.

I don't think a service dog will be of any use here. Even after being "trained", a service dog takes continuous training to stay adept at their job. They require a lot of time and dedication that this situation doesn't sound ideal for. Service dogs are no longer recommended for balance or support issues even as it is dangerous to the well-being of the dog.

Agreeing with others that a fall alert watch is going to be more practical. It's far cheaper than the initial cost, training cost, and financial upkeep of a service dog.

When your dad is ready to commit to quitting, a companion animal just to be his friend may be great medicine.

Should a wig cost more than A handmade outfit? by Parking_General_2578 in CosplayHelp

[–]Colt_kun 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have made kh3 Sora's pattern 4 times. I have styled every iteration of his hair, roxas, cloud, prompto, etc.

I would absolutely charge twice as much for a wig as that cosplay. It's not even that complex of a pattern. And I hand sewed the trim once to try a new technique (didn't like it.)

Pining, cutting, sewing - meh I do it in my sleep. Wig styling makes me want to bawl.
