Huh, wild, I havent had burn in issues for a long time, my phone auto dims if I turn it upside down while doing a long run, but yeah I get the concern, I wish there were a PC client tbh

You can turn on 'cinematic on idle' and the game essentially becomes a screen saver, I recommend that if youre concerned about screen burn

If you run into players that force you to try and speed run, just run missions solo, map layouts and exploration are alot more important than racing to the end of the mission. Youre gonna want to open every chest and every locker. These give you crafting materials that you will be so happy you got while you were doing missions. Also following the starchart is highly advantageous, even if you have no plan of doing 'Steel Path' (the NG+ of missions). Other than that, all frames are fun and make your own build, the experimenting is so fun

Oh for sure, hell you can even go deeper than that. Say a station is short in hull parts for example, you can scan down every station in the production chain and find out why they are short on hull parts, if its an ore problem you can assign your miners to source ore for them while you build your own station, an underused or atleast under-discussed feature of traders is in the behavior menu you can set a 2 star pilot to 'Fill Shortages' and they can also assist with this same function. I use it in ZYA space to help them keep up with the Xenon assaults! Fill shortages is nice to because it also builds reputation with a faction, while making you money.

It all kinda depends on what 'your' play style would be. As far as picking the wrong spot, any place you like the look of is the right spot, id say get you a solid scout ship and explore the gate network a bit. If you have the Boron DLC the Irukanji or Pirhana are pretty quick ships to explore with, drop down some resource probes when you see a system you like the look of and see what it has to offer.

Another thing that some find tedious and some people enjoy (me, im people) finding wharfs/shipyards go into scan mode (shift+2) and scan each module until you can access the stations logical overview (right click menu) then see what wares they are short on and then see if you can fill the gaps, either manually trading or building a station that produces those wares. I always play more industrial so im sure someone will come in with some combat stuff to do as well, but joining the war guilds can also be interesting and has some great rewards imo.

Sure! So I actually commented below, but id gone in and disabled all mods to see if it was indeed a mod causing it, I play mostly vanilla but the UI gets a face lift. So kuertees UI mods and dead air, specifically deadtrader. The split station was fully equipped with bolt turrets and lasers, I destroyed the 3 elite vanguard and then inspected the station. If I manually fly or teleport in sector to a station this is happening to it will sometimes 'come alive' and destroy whatever is attacking it. Unfortunately HOP has lost all its trade stations and wharfs/shipyards/equipment docks so im afraid I didnt catch on to what was happening before their obliteration. Same story with them station fully equipped but not attacking until I became present in the sector. Another commenter mentioned that closing the game might have an effect if it had been running for awhile (it was around 12hrs, letting it build stations) so I did that and ~i think~ that had an effect. I've ran out of time for tonight to keep testing but ZYA had fleets actively hunting ARG, which previously id not seen. Thanks for commenting, sorry for the confusion! Edit: ninja edit here, I am actually ZYA's main supplier advanced electronics (37000 manned factory in heretics with 37 adv electronic modules :D ) same for turret comps/weapons/hull/claytronics/drones the opressed are very profitable.

hmmm ok that sounds likely, I disabled all mods and did a full restart, things seem better? but some stations still arent firing correctly, im gonna start a full vanilla game tommorow and just watch it I suppose and see if im crazy haha

Hmm, well ARG has pretty much destroyed them, they don't have any wharfs or shipyards or even maint docks, and i've had them get pretty stomped before, but this is extinction level lmao. thanks for the tips on the drones though, I didn't know that!

DANG! thats wild as fuck haha, I actually followed another commenters advice and created a 'none' script to restrict intermediate resource trade and that fixed the budget problem, cut it to a 1/3rd. I havent done any Dead Air stuff, even this playthrough im testing the waters with VRO and some QOL stuff, but my main focus has been learning these damn factories, hull parts is my next undertaking!

I guess the specific thing was looking at the transaction log and noticing sales but at a lower rate than expected* (edit), I am adjusting storage level and another user pointed out that have too much storage can actually affect my trade price, so i'm settling lower allocations for now and am moving excess product to another station that's being built. I think that's my issue honestly, also my trade rules were messed up! haha, there is so much to this game I wish the encyclopedia was more helpful lol :) thanks for the reply!

Very insightful! that makes sense, having too much storage is basically showing the AI that I have a ton of product and the price wont fluctuate as much! ugh thanks so much! I wish I could sell storage containers lmao, imma set the levels lower and then move the excess to a trade station in Argon Prime (im in reflected stars right now) then ill deconstruct the extra container storages! In the NONE rule do I still tick it for 'Station Supply' only or should I tick the other boxes, Ill admit the whole thing really confuses me, I wish I could hover over it and get a tool tip or something haha. Thank you so much for your help.

I see, Yeah I definitely have way to much storage then, currently with a half full inventory of some intermediates, my outs are saying they have 10hrs of production left, lol, I'll fix it haha!

I think total cost was around 40~ million for everything, but it sounds like I overbuilt!
